Hey Fan Footy Community,

Cortez is back for 2017!!!

Here is my first draft for this year.
I think my first drafts are getting better each year but i'll leave that up to you guys! haha

Let me know what you think :)

Backs: Rance, T. Adams, Laird M. Hibberd (Melb), Hampton, M. Hibberd (NM)
Bench: Newman, Witherden

Mids: Dangerfield, Hannebery, Bont, Fyfe, D. Beams, D. Swallow, McCluggage, Myers
Bench: Berry, Ahern, Freeman

Rucks: Goldy, Sandi
Bench: Cameron

Fwds: Macrae, Heeney, Billings, Bennell, Nankervis, A. Black
Bench Pickett, Durdin

47,400k left

I haven't really looked at other teams on here yet so i'm guessing mine may be different to a few which i'm happy with, not as much fun having a stereotype team so please keep an open mind when reviewing this.
Of course rookies are no where near sorted so if you could focus more on premiums, mid pricers and structure that would be great.
Thanks Cortez

Forward line is a bit too 'mid-pricey' for my liking, ideally you'd want someone like Dahl in there. Ideally you'd probably want to turn Nank and Billings into Dahl and a rookie.

Rest of team looks pretty good :)

not a fan of hibberd (melb) this year as a pick, personally like the 3 premo def setup that most people go with so id be down grading him to a rook and upgrading a mid pricer somewhere.

billings an interesting one. could see his cieling being low 90s but that could be enough to be a keeper with the options down forward this year

Nankervis a bit pricey for mine at f5, dont see a lot of scoring out of him this year to be spending 350k on

Glenmaggie

As the other guys have said, forward line seems a bit risky. Need more premos. I am also not sold on Hibberd as yet. Mids look great, Sandi might be a risk, injury prone and getting old! Good luck, side looks great !

Billings is going to be an absolute gun but I don't want him in my team as he's not worth the risk at his price. Acres is a similar price and I see similarities in him to Bontempelli the way he can stand up in a tackle, take the game on and score. ... but he's risky too. No doubt some Saints are going to step up this year and one might be worth it...but which one?
I think Dahlhaus is a must have... do some juggling to get him in.

Thanks for the responses everyone, Appreciate it!
I'm liking Billings at this point and need to go with your gut sometimes.
Hibberd is an interesting one. I reckon working with an up and coming Melboure team will be good for him and could see him +90 this year.

I have done some shuffling though to enchance my forward line,
I have a rule of not starting more than two prems in my starting line up which is why i have Bont for Heppell.
Yes Forward line doesn't look that much better but Dahl and McGlug swap and that leads to a very strong forward line.

Backs: Rance, Adams, Laird, Hibberd (Melb), Hampton, Berry (Newman, Ryan)
Mids: Danger, Hanners, Fyfe, Dahl, Heppell, D, Beams, D. Swallow, D. Myers
Rucks: Goldy, Witts (Cameron)
Fwds: Macrae, Greene, Billings, Bennell, McGluggage, A. Black (Bolton, W. Rioli)

Bank: 17.7K

Witts? Not witty.

GoLions

Doubt Witts will be best 22 unless Nicholls gets injured. Nicholls #1 ruck and they have enough tall options up forward that Witts isn't needed to pinch hit imo.

Im with you there, although i read an article the other day about players doing well and they said he could push for number 1 ruck spot, id still think it would go to nicholls though. and yeah i cant see the point in putting him into that forward line, 2 metre peter can always take stints in the ruck to rest nicholls mid game

PureSwag

Witts??? Thats a no,no as I don't think he will be in the best 22.

Hibberd to Scharenberg
Billings to Nank
Witts to Ryder

Billings as good as he is won't play enough midfield to score what he'd need to be a top 10

Easily interchangeable with sandilands if hampson lines up rd1

Money Shot

Hibberd to Scharenberg
Billings to Ryder
Witt's to Sandi

Ringo

Doubt if Witts start so need to address that.

As you like Billings play around a bit. Would prefer Dahl in forward line rather than mids.
