Currently he is in my side but if I can go cheaper elsewhere he will be the first mid of my current side upgraded.

There are a lot of unknowns with our side this year.  I want to see how we go in the first few rounds before having confidence to bring bomber premos in. Bomber premos for me will be upgrade targets.

Dont think captaincy will make a difference. He's a good player but can he go 110+ ? That's what I want to know will happen from my starting mids

Oh he'll go 110+, trust me.

24/25 years old this season, increased his average every year apart from 2015 (obviously a few distractions), and is fresh off a year off to make up for only missing 6 games in his first 5 seasons, plus an easy schedule and will be leading the midfield of a good team. Lock and load lads ;)

I just can't see Heppell being a 110+ mid

106-108 at best imo

Just my own gut feeling. He's a very good player, but I don't have him in the elite category

I agree a 105-110 man....   Do you think Titch and Heppell are similar ins coring or Titch a cut above Heppell.   I do like the fact he is entering prime at 24 and no physical issues.

Gut feeling only I see Jobe being highest scoring Essendon player this year.   time off to recover physically and mentally, driven personality, lightened body size and shape, faster and fitter.    Tempted to back myself and take the bugger.

to many unknowns how they will go

Your a bombers supporter and that is how you are thinking wow that is really flowered I'm tipping they will be a big chance for the 8 , these are guys footballers they are not recovering from bad injuries to me it's just like riding a bike you never forget  :o

i think they could come out really strong then get tired quicker

they might not be recovering from injury but still might lose some fitness needed to run out a season

there was an article saying hamstrings etc are likely for returning players

Meh articles which expert wrote that they have as much chance of doing a hammy or whatever as any other player maybe Dyson will be a nice POD

Its nothing to do with injury this is a huge list shakeup. Half the team gone then comes back. Stuctures will change lists will move around as they get used to normality. Im not even considering a essendon guy other then myers and rookies

Nobody can say for sure whats going to happen. Some say it'll take a while, but what makes you say that? There has never been a situation where this has happened.

I could very easily say that Essendon will come out and go 22-0. I could say that Heppell, Watson, Hurley and co will come out all guns blazing with fires in their stomach just wanting to play and beat the Hawks in round one.

Heppells in my team for now, but as with anyone, my team will change before round one so I'll see if he stays.

The difference with the 10 returning players and players missing a year to injury. The players who get injured don't go through a whole year of a strict professional training program.

Listening to Heppell speak yesterday I have no doubt they'll be fired up for round one.

Fired up early yes. But playing on emotion lasts about 10 minutes. You want him to be a gun for the season not just early games.
It's new ground having so many come back after a year off but there's been players suspended for a year before and players that have retired prematurely then returned and generllay they are well below their best after time away from the game. May take them 6 weeks, may take them all year.
Just don't see Heppell having a career best year after 18 months away from the game. Class player so he will score decent enough but not sure he takes a big step up to be a 110+ player. Happy for him to prove me wrong

Ringo

Is a wait and see - for me not in my team.  Will be watching though to see if he becomes an upgrade target or injury replacement.

elephants

I see him going 108 (mainly a feeling). Is that enough to justify picking him? Probably is. He's in my team.

ronl

Heppell and the Essendon players will be high on pure adrenalin for the first few games...can they keep it up...probably not but, based on raw talent alone, they should go all right.

Prestia will be lucky to start R1 with his injury
