flower how exciting is this bloke as a Hawks fan. I couldnt bring myself to pick him at the moment (I rarely ever pick hawthorn players). But everything points to him improving. He should be able to push him TOG up again with another season and with hawthorns midfield he wont be pushed up forward anywhere near as much as he was forced to up at the swans.

Lewis gone leaves the perfect spot for him to slot in perfectly to have a very fantasy friendly role in our side and if he is getting the wraps he is from all people let alone Hodgey then theres clearly something special about this kid. He's 23 and averaged 104 two seasons in a row. I can easily see that going to 109-110 but at the moment that isnt enough for him to play as my M6. I currently have Beams there and even like Murphy

StuL

Have him at M5 atm but if Beams comes he might better in that spot. Can save 100k with hopefully similar output. Looking like a bit of an if though.

elephants

I see him going 110+ and therefore I'll be picking him.

I'm back to trying to find a way to get Mitchell in my team ;D

There's just so much to like. Only 23 years old, off the back of two 103 averaging seasons as the number 4 midfielder at the Swans, I think he has a big chance to go 115+.

I could see a lot of coaches jumping on him early if he gets off to a big start, so starting with him could be a great POD.

I'll just keep talking myself into picking him :P

If you think a lot of people will jump on him if he starts well, that make him even less of a POD. A good POD is the one that few people have and are less of a priority for people to bring in. Tmac, Priddis, Any KPP

You have 3 possible situations if you start him
People don't start him, you get a POD for 3 weeks if he goes well. Maybe with some small cash gains.
He goes average 105 your stuck with an underperforming POD compared to most premiums while everyone else is happy they held off.
He averages <100 and your stuck having to make an adjustment trade.

Who is going to be in a position to trade in a 570k+ player after 3 rounds?

If he starts well enough to be a good POD he will be first trade in for most people, injury sideways, adjustment trade etc.
I know I plan for 3 adjustment trades in the first 3 weeks to grab the missed premium & rookies.

JBs-Hawks

Will be my first hawk starter in years!

He never played fwd at the swans and IMO that is one reason Swans didn't do more to keep him. Not sure he will find his feet as quickly this year as some think.  A solid 105 avg for the year after a rough start is my prediction. Grab him after round 7/8

You're having a laugh arent you...? You rested him forward quite often. And even has quite a few bags of 3 to show for it (not to mention the DPP in the past based on heat maps) And swans didnt do much to keep him because he cant play forward...? You lot couldn't offer him more the bottom of the barrel scraps left over from your Tippet and Franklin deals. You guys sure didnt want to see him leave but you couldnt do anything about it.

The wraps on him from Hodge alone is exciting enough. You rarely see someone as capable as him at 23 and should be one to flourish with more opportunity. whether he needs settling in time who knows, everyone is different but he'll sure be there turning it up at the business end for the hawks

kilbluff1985

yeah SR not sure what games u were watching if u think he never rested forward

Keeper27

currently in my side @ M5, i think he can push 110+

Mongoose528

Have him in AF but don't think he has that absolute elite status yet to be picked in supercoach

I'm a Hawks fan and I watched this bloke closely in the finals last year - he was their best player IMO what I saw

The last few years Hawks players have not been fantasy relevant - they are a very team focussed play style without any real standouts, yes maybe 3 players were not bad choices, but by no means R1 in that position

TMitch has upside for his age without doubt

At the Swans he was left off the hook by the opposition due to the quality around him (see Collingwood a few years ago with Daisy, Beams, Pendles, Sidebum, Ball etc)...the Swans on ball brigade is top tier...still after his defection

At Hawthorn, TMitch I think is going to get a lot more attention - we don't know how he will cope with that...who else is the opposition going to focus in that Hawks midfield at stoppages this year?

I actually see better value in Sheils if his role changes slightly from tagger to offensive with perhaps Langford , ORourke or someone else becoming that full time defensive mid

But....

If Hawthorn fall off a cliff which wouldn't surprise me (Lewis and SMitch is a lot to cover), then its fair to assume TMitch will be doing a fair amount of carrying @ the coal face = CD gold

I wont be starting him - I have a strict rule of premiums joining new clubs....you don't go there in their 1st year generally.
If Tmitch does what Dangerpants did going to Girlong after rd 5 last year then Ill be convinced to get him in then
