He has a black eye at the moment so it will be interesting to see how the scans come back.

Wouldn't have thought it would be too much of an issue. Lots of players manage to play through these types of injury.

Wouldn't have thought it would be too much of an issue. Lots of players manage to play through these types of injury.

If there is a fracture it will depend on surgery and where it is. It could be 1-4 weeks and a helmet on return.

Possible fractured fibula for Tippett. I had a feeling that could have been the case with the way he landed and rolled it. He couldn't put any weight on it at all which is never a good sign.

Fibular isnt a weight baring bone though? So if he cant put weight on it its more likely a bone that bares weight like the Tibia? having said i did not see the injury at all and have no idea what happened.

He rolled the outside of his foot which is where the fibula is. It looked like it wrenched his ankle. I'd say it's a high ankle sprain (what ended Murphy's season last year) and a fractured fibula isn't all that uncommon apparently with those.

haha yeah, probably is, from first principles youd think a bone only bearing 17% of ur body weight would not cause you inability to weight bear if fractured but after a quick google it commonly does. Too much to learn :P
