Now we see some of the rookies we have picked going down:

"Perth radio station @6PRSportsToday reporting popular forward rookie Willie Rioli could miss 3 months with a badly torn hamstring."

What is it with Rioli's and hamstrings?

He would have needed a super strong pre-season to lock a spot in. I don't mind him not lining up round one though. There are a couple of other guys I'd like to see play early in the season like Cuningham so it gives him a chance to cement a spot.

Does this now make Lycett a viable option Crawford if he starts Rd 1. Surely he gets nod over Giles but is Petrie there as insurance and will take rucks.

If Lycett plays a JLT match and lines up rd one I would pick him over Ryder if going for ruck cover. Has shown in the past he is capable of regularly hitting the 100 mark.

Don't think Petrie/Vardy would impact his scoring alot, if Giles was picked I would reconsider as I think he would ruck a lot more that the other two

i think dont know if lycetts gonna score enough to be a top ruck, could see him going mid 90s but at the price he is thats not gonna make a lot of money

If petrie actually plays ruck for them i'll be shocked, im a north fan and love drew but i dont think he can physically get off the ground anymore, correct me if i'm wrong but i think he only had 25 hitouts in the last 2 years

To be fair, when you have Goldy, you never want anyone else rucking for you :P

fair call, but as superhuman as goldys endurance is he still had to rest at points haha, daw and brown came in over him, had a look at afl tables, drew hasnt had real serious ruck out put since 08, put in a little bit in 2011, but thats 6 years ago now, which scares me coz thats the year i graduated high school.... i feel old

"North Melbourne star Todd Goldstein is set to line-up against a makeshift West Coast ruck department in round one after making solid progress in his injury rehabilitation over the past month."

The West Australian.

Yeah I read yesterday he'll be back for a JLT match too, so well before Round 1

Even if he lines up R1 not ideal preparation for the start of the season he will be dumped from most teams
