First Draft for comments:

Expensive rookies used to ensure plenty of wriggle room. Some upgrades possible once we know who is playing Rd 1.
Did not pick beams as I think too much risk for asking price and opted for Watson instead.

Only $3k left and comments welcome.

First response to anyone's team ever so consider yourself privileged Ringo  8) LOL

Here's my fuzzy logic on Beams.... he's said he'll have to manage his injury forwards but that's not necessarily too critical IMO.  In 2014 he had 19 games at 107.6 (AF and DT) and 2015 he had 14 at 103.0 (AF and (DT).  There has to be at least a fair chance he'll get back to a 100+ average but for how many games???

Beams has been in and out of my team heaps of times but poor old Jobe hasn't been in once, can't see much upside even at his discount.  Love to be wrong!

Assuming Beams starts, I'm expecting hoping he gets 90+ average for at least the first 4 or 5 games and if he gets injured then, well he would have made a few bucks and reasonable points as well as being a placeholder for an upgrade.  Remember he's only priced at 86 in AF and DT.  That's the downside, the upside is that he might get back to 2014/15 form for a bit longer.  In AF I reckon the risk is fairly low due to the unlimited trades however in DT it requires a bit more courage.  Even if he sits around his price while he finds his feet and increases game time, I'll carry him for a few games as long as he doesn't look troubled.

In SC it's a totally different matter, for me it's a lot less risky.  He had 19 games at 115.5 in 2014 then 14 at 113.4 in 2015 but he's priced at only 79.5  Even getting half a dozen games at 100 DT ave would be nice.  Of course he could go down like Swanny in the first few minutes but that's the risk with all of them.

So for me - in AF it's worth the risk, in DT it might be and in SC it's a sure thing.

Bring on the game....

Sitting team till JLT after a few tweaks

Like the structure I now have but a couple of risks. Can not have all teams the same.

Bob Murphy at D3 is a risk. Started last year with 3 90+ scores till injured.

Starting with Nroo (Average for first 10 games last year prior to injury 112.4) so a calculated risk to get early jump.

Gong with Goldy and Stef as set and forget rucks.

Expensive rookies chosen for wriggle room.

Mr.Craig

Looking at your team I feel like the main issue is the lack of potential value. Especially in AF you are rewarded for picking players on the way up. I'm thinking of guys like JJ, Heeney, Lloyd, Bont, Cripps, Miller....picking a couple of them gives you the chance to benefit from their improvement but also gives you spare cash to strengthen those D4-D6 and F4-F6 positions where you are looking a little vulnerable.

Don't get me wrong, nothing inherently wrong with the players you've picked but I think we've seen in the last couple of years with the likes of Zerrett and Hunter just how advantageous it can be to take a punt on some of those low-premo and mid priced guys.

Now you have done it. >:(

have taken comments on board thank you Mr C and brought in 3 players who I think can increase in Heeney, JJ and Josh Dunkley a bit of a risk but based on his back end last year.

Still getting used to AF as did not start playing it till a couple of years ago. Not as easy as I thought with 2 trades each week.

have 80k cash left and think will now sit.

MegaDrag

Your afl fantasy team is not that bad i like it

Grannyboy

Scharenberg and Beams both long term injuries and haven't played for a long time, hmm :-X

Grannyboy

I'd start Myers and downgrade McGrath to a cheapie rook for a bit more splash too.

Ringo

Thanks Grannyboy - Using expensive rookies to allow for changes when we know who is playing round 1.  A lot easier to downgrade than find cash to upgrade to a playing rookie.

PureSwag

Ringo you gonna remove Myers???

Ringo

Peter

Interesting one Higgins. Banking on more midfield?

Ringo

Sitting Team post JLT.

Like most awaiting final rookies.

Looks good only one who could be worth trading out is Zorko tom mitchell is simular price and he looks to be hawks main ball winner but if you think zorko will be as consistent then all good. Here is one question for ya heath shaw is a little cheaper than Taylor Adams do you think shaw will have a better year than adams, the giants should have a good year and win a lot of games, the pies who knows so im tossing it up myself shaw over adams
