Surely we all have Powell-Pepper.

I don't know about you guys but I started O'Meara at M7 and Powell-Pepper at M8 this week.

I have SPS on the bench who I will probably trade to Witts.

Is it a waste having Powell-Pepper at say M9 instead of M8 just to bring Murphy in?

Other options are Ryder or O'Meara > Murphy.

Always good to have some depth in the midfield. Guys like Barrett, Parfitt & Pickett won't cut it when a premo misses.

Yeah that's an excellent point Bully.

Always nice to have a decent mid emergency.

Like you said don't want to rely on Barrett or Parfitt if a mid premo misses.  :-X

Think I'll miss him. Reckon he'll deffs get to $550k so a neat $120k profit but still have my doubts over a top 10 finish in the midfield.

Have more pressing issues and no way to really get him in....

I'm in the same boat- considering
Steele--> Murphy via dpp
And Taranto --> Houston

But they are both pretty sideways and it's only achieving getting one 'premo' in and getting another rookie in the forwards (where there is seems to be rookies scoring well)

After playing around my trades I might not bother with Murphy.

I only have 2 spots left in my midfield and want the best of the best in there.

Dangerfield, Pendles, Fyfe, Beams, T.Mitchell, Treloar, O'Meara, Powell-Pepper (Taranto, Barrett, Parfitt)

I would rather my last 2 mid spots went to the Bont and Rocky.  8)

I bringing him in. Worst case he becomes M8/M9 loophole with Beams, best case he keeps it up. Time to put my money where my mouth is with Murphy.

Thadda boy! I think we both had him in early only to be distracted by the O'Meara & Swallow noise. Feel much better now.

I ended up downgrading him to Swallow for rookie cash. I eventually flipped on both O'Meara and Swallow and bought in Rocky and Gawn. In hindsight I probably don't start with Hanners and should have stuck with Murphy. I'm already what feels like 200 piints behind on that move alone.

Funnily enough I started him in the othet two comps

2012 16 games at 112
2013 21 games at 92
2014 20 games at 106
2015 19 games at 103
2016 10 games at 79

Only reason to get him is the cash grab given so many other top mids who are proven and more durable

reasonable point, the only thing ill say with that is he will not be tagged this year, whereas previous years hes been tagged heavily. I think an ave of 115 is not out of the question if he stays fit.

Holz

question if you have the cash is it worth going the Bont over him?

its basically Bont Houston v Murphy WHE + 40k for me.

Whilst  both Murph and WHE will make heaps of money, you burn trades getting them in then out again to cash in. 4 trades if you haven't started with them and if you don't think either are keepers*.

* keepers are not for M9 or F7 either IMO

Tough call for those of us with Hanners / Roughy

Murphy is great value to trade in IF you see him averaging 110 and therefore a starting keeper.

If you don't think he will average that or being a starting keeper , then Surely the ~120K increase he will give you isn't worth 2 trades?

This.

Not worth a 'correctional trade' at all. He is slightly underpriced and has started the season well, but i can't see him being a top 10 mid. Carlton will lose majority of their games, if he keeps going at the rate he is he will start getting tagged again...

Not worth a trade.

I wouldn't put WHE in the same boat as Murphy. If someone is stuck with Tarranto/McCarthy/Florent/Bowes in the fwds and no WHE i think that's definitely worth the trade...

This

Correction to those who will make money quickly will get you more points on the park earlier. Important if going for overall. If not, then sticking fat may help you in the long run when others run low on trades

tor01doc

Is this right?

WHE projected ppg 80 - will have made $141K by round 6
Taranto 60ppg - up by $80K by round 6?

Not really worth the trade if league and trade preservation the aim?
