Geez I'm running an odd backline compared to most.
What have you gone with wato my main mannnn

I've gone fairly deep myself, wasn't a big fan of rookies like Smith and Otten (although still may start Otten by switching Hibberd into the mids...)

Adams, Laird, Howe, Jones, Marchbank, Hampton (Stewart, Hibberd)

The combo of Howe and Jones is what makes it strange haha

Ah yeah, Jones was looking pretty good in that first half last night! I have Docherty and Shaw over Adams and Jones, rest is the same :)

Yeah absolutely died in the 3rd then stormed home again late.. I'll take 95 from him at $307k anyday though! Positive signs with him running through the guts. Yeah everyone is pretty common, needed a solid POD. Happy with Howe, reckon he'll kill it this year.

Haha yeah, absolute bargain if he keeps it up. Hopefully not Jesse Lonergan 2.0 though :p

And Howe was awesome after quarter time, loving the pick atm

I had Howe last year and he was a great POD. He is going to be super consistent and reliable. I will get him in during upgrade season because took Heater and Docherty ahead of him.

Similar here. Went Laird, Howe, Lloyd, Ramsay, Marchbank, Hampton with Otten/stewart bench. Relatively happy so far

Docherty and Stewart are my only 2 differences to you wato.

I am happy with Murphy as I went with him + rook over Swallow/Taranto.

I really hope Murphy does well but as soon as he has a couple of good games, opposition will target him and he struggles with the tag. His only defence against the tag is to try to outrun the tagger but one on one he is hopeless. He needs Gibbs and Cripps to take the tag away from him to produce consistent SC scores.

False. Ben Jacobs is probably looked at as the best tagger going around right now, the last time Murphy was tagged by him he had 26 touches, 1 goal and 117 SC points. Plus teams are rarely tagging now anyway so this has no relevance.

I hope you are right, but his highest average over last 4 years was 106 which would have had him ranked in the 20's for mids. Last time he was elite was 2010/11 and did ok in 2012 but only played 16 games that year. Just can't see anything change for him to turn him into top 10 mid, but good start so far.

2014 he averaged 110 unsubbed and 105 in 2015.

I think he will average around 105 which should be good as a stepping stone/M9 if you want to keep him all year.

He was tagged twice last year (Greenwood and Crowley) for scores of 90 and 100. He played less inside last year and had a career low in contested possessions due to the shoulder the year before. He is fit and firing this year. Perfect example of that, he had 18 contested in the game vs Richmond. He had 58 in 10 games last year with a total of 11 coming in one game....

Average in 2014 was 106 and 2015 was 103, that's a mid ranked in the 20's, but I think he will make a good stepping stone as a worst case scenario. He had a good game against Tigers, so might be some upside coming this year.
