saw some video of that on twitter or similar and it wasn't malicious. it was similar to end of game, look away hit to get rid of ball still in pocket, up skirt for change of service ends, appeared to even hit it downwards into the ground at minimal force...not in anger at all and she apologised straight away... footage was just on the player...none of the ball or where it went but based on what I saw I believe she was innocent...if it hit the ball boy/girl then loss of point or warning may have been better but as I say the footage I'm basing my opinion on was lacking.

this article has footage...doesn't look bad at all, just an accident and it probably wouldn't have hurt much at all unless it hit in the eye or downstairs or something. As said above a loss of point/warning would've been a far better option, if not nothing at all because it was obviously an accident.

Did anyone see the Nishokori incident last night that the article also alluded to?  Must say I could not remember it.

100% agree the first time I saw it was some crappy footage which made it look like she turned around and smashed it to where she was standing. I believe it wasn't seen clearly by any official, as the reaction from the player with the follow through is the only thing that looks bad.

Just the title and how it being described makes it sound like there was intent to injure the ball kid which is absolute bs

Yep my apologies got home late and did not realise a replay.

PowerBug

I'd like to see two players that absolutely hate each other's guts to play against each other. All tennis players seem to have respect for each other and if they hate each other they certainly don't show it.

It'd be good viewing I reckon

Just 3 results away now from possibly the biggest game in the history of men's tennis. Just imagine the hype around Federer vs Nadal.

Please please please please please let it happen.
