i cant see him doing much tagging TBH. I have had my eye on him as well, but the price is awkward in the extreme.

Think he will score pretty well early on without Heeney in the team, one big positive is he likes to kick the ball, hates a handball!!

I think Marchbank has the pedigree and role security to be the better pick at this stage.. particularly at that price.

Personally I'd take Jones over Thurlow however.

Jones was quite impressive during the finals last year, which surprised me since I thought he was only ever going to be average at best. With another preseason into him I am very tempted to see what he can do. Currently in my team.

I've just put Shaun McKernan in my team and I don't even feel bad about it. Hopefully Belly and Luey give him 5-6 weeks as solo ruckman.

Thoughts on Wingard?

With forwards being tough to pick does anyone think Wingard can get back to 90+? Reports from the Power have been that they were trying to get him more game time in the midfield.

Im definitely considering him but i just wanted other opinions.

Definite consider given he is likely to get more of a run in the mids. The bye is turning off a lot of people who will be waiting until after to bring him in as an upgrade if he is showing premium form. Its a similar issue with T Lynch.

Really like him as a pick and was in my side early days. But simply can't fit him in now

Jones has been given tagging duties before, lowest scores in 2016 were 21, 23, 34, 42, 45, & 46. These are rookie scores and the fact he passed 80 only twice last year should be enough evidence to steer clear. Jones is a mid price trap.
