Ethan Hughes 477k??
I don't even know who he is :P

couple of interesting cheapies. what are your thoughts on Balic, McCarthy, Apeness, Ryan, and most importantly, Dawson?

Haha.
So hit up Warnie on twitter and apparently its...
Based on his 1x game of 93 in 2015 as its higher than his 62 average from this year
Then since he only played 5 games THIS year, he gets a 15% discount on that 93
Don't like it, reckon they should look at it. But meh it'll only affect a few (like Fiorini)

Umm
Balic should see some games this year.
Personally i think McCarthy might not play all the year. May take time to adjust, but from all reports he's impressing. Pretty cheap at 211k
Apeness is highly rated. But we wouldn't play more than 2 of Tabs, Kersten and Apeness though
Ryan is the type we need across halfback, just whether he can get up to speed and adjust quick enough

Zac will average 150 this year. Lock him in ;)

pommyadam

based on his one game of 93?! which came during the rd23 rest-athon of 2015

I'd say his 2016 average of 62 is a little low, but 93 is FAR too extreme (somewhere around 68 would've been more accurate - a 10% increase on his 2016 season)

It doesn't really affect Fiorini though, he'll be priced on his average from last year? (he doesn't have a previous better 2-year average)

His discount isn't as much as SC/DT tho

Yeah but how many games did he play? 2? That's still a 24% discount on whatever his average was. I think this new system is pretty solid except for the 2-year part.

Peter

Balic and Ryan for me along with Fyfe. Forget the rest

Yep 3% for every game under 10

So i just realised Fiorini only ave 85 in SC compared to 111 in DT lol. That's why hes so much cheaper in SC, not the discounts. My bad

Maybe applying the discount related to the year with the highest average is the way to go?

For Hughes 27% of the 93 instead of only 15%

EDIT: but then guys like Beams dont get their discounts

They can make it simpler by just making it the previous year only counts as 'best 2-year average' if you play 10+ games in it.

Beams gets his discount but it goes to last year's avergae, Hughes gets a discount on this year's average, etc

it kinda does affect Fiorini though
are you happy with him being the 4th most expensive player in DT? because (if you go by averages alone) then that's what he'll be based on 2016 averages

edit: on the plus side, it means O'Meara will be literally rookie priced (having no games to work on over that 2 year period) which is a downright steal :P
as well as Ablett being priced according to his 2016 figures (including that 61 for his last game) considering his 2015 season was lower

edit: Strnadica is currently in my provisional side as an R4 (purely for the cheapie DPP), is he their 4th choice ruck (behind Sandi, Griffin and ZClarke) or are others ahead of him in that department?

Fiorini won't be the 4th highest priced player, he gets a discount equivalent to anyone else who played under 10 games? Haha

Grannyboy

What are the chances of Alex Pearce taking McPharlins role at half back? He started a couple of games on fire last year but I think Lyon saw he was going ok and dragged him then dropped him a couple of times. Like a lot of Freo players last year he looked ok for a bit then he did nothing.
