This kid deserves his own thread (and I didn't know where else to ask this) but I'm really interested in people's opinions.

Do you all think Bont can push his game to a 115+ average?
Questions to consider - was his average inflated due to a lack of mids around him for the second half of the year gifting him greater opportunity and more ball
Will he increase productivity? Averaged 24.5 per game, can he improve
With a fit Dogs best 22, does he spend enough time in the mids
At only 21, was it a freak year and potentially we're thinking too much of him
Will he continue to kick a goal a game, if not more
My biggest concern - Dogs are so evenly spread - is there enough points he can steal

I've got him in the first team I've put together so far, and I'll be doing everything I can to keep him in

With so much value in the mids this year, I'm hoping most can't start him and he starts as a POD for me.

The Bont is crazy good, already averaging 103 as a 19 year old and 107 as a 20 year old.

I expect he'll put in the odd 70-85, but I also expect plenty of 100+ scores and a 110+ average

Don't think the guy will ever be a monster possession winner but he is all class so it doesn't seem to matter.
Champion data love him too. Some of his biggest scores this year came with low possessions and not even many goals.
22 disposals, 0 goals on GF day for 140 SC
19 disposals, 1 goal in Rd 20 for 133 SC
25 disposals, 2 goals in Rd 16 for 140 SC

In saying that, he does seem to stand up late in close games to boost his scores.
Think I'll wait and see on him though. Young guys make me a bit nervous

Agree, he doesn't spend enough time in the midfield to rack up those ridiculous Swan/Gaz/Rocky numbers. Gets a lot of time up forward than most midfielders. You'd be relying on an increase in that for him to exceed 110ppg

Absolutely no hope getting picked in my side. Just don't see much upside for the price.

Exactly my thoughts ^^ excluding yours RD.

Thinking Sloane for a similar price. Just trying to work out top 15-20 mids this year with Ablett Fyfe Beams back in the frame.

RaisyDaisy

I'll back Bont to be a Top 15 mid, and if he's a POD then even better

That being said, it's only December lol so I'm sure so much will change from now until Rd1

From memory Bont had a limited/late start to preseason last year which may account for the slow start/good finish. The few Dogs games I watched this year I noticed he was involved in a lot of scoring chains which helps the SC points.

If he has an uninterrupted preseason I'll probably slot him in at M5/M6 expecting a 110ish average. Kids a gun, reminds me of Pendles but I think he has the potential to be better than Pendles, particularly hitting the scoreboard wise.

I can only start so many premium mids. I'm pretty much locking in Pendles and Danger, I think Beams and Murphy at their price are must starts and then there is Fyfe as well.

I'd love to find a place for him, he was awesome to own last season!

But with Danger, Pendles, Fyfe, perhaps Ablett and JPK all under consideration around his price it's hard to fit him in. Would make an awesome POD to start the season with though.

My problem is too many doggies? - MacCrae, Dahlhous, Bont

His 115 from round 7 on wards and the fact he just turned 21 isnt enough upside  for you?

would argue he pretty much has the most upside of the premo mids.

Im starting him.

he has more downside then most premo mids but certainly has one of the higest upsides.

LordSneeze

The only issue I can see is that he has in the past struggled to be able to break a close tag. Most of his poor scores have been when he gets a close tag.

All good I don't agree. Won't be touching him.
I feel like there is so much depth in that midfield the points will be spread and he will a hunted man.
Time shall tell all.

With regards to having the most upside of premo mids? Seriously? Fyfe and beams blow him away in that regard and obviously will have 95% ownership on this site.
