So back on track with a proper team.
Ive done a full refresh due to the lack of rookies in the Mids and Fwds that im confident in playing and scoring well enough to make more cash than the MP options. Its likely they will show up and i will be able to downgrade and upgrade a few of the MP options.
At the moment ive just got randoms in the rookie positions, if i need cash for any rookie changes i will be downgrading Shaw to Laird.

Def - Shaw, Vince, Tuohy, Marchbank, Hampton, Vicker-Willis (Stewart, Hibberd)
Mid - Danger, JPK, Treloar, Fyfe, Beams, JOM, Swallow, Brodie (SPP, Pickett, Freeman)
Ruck - Goldy, Sandi (Strna)
Fwd - Dalh, Macrae, Caddy, Roughy, Nankervis, Black (Eddy, Houston)

like it! How confident are you with Nankervis though playing regularly as #1 would be my only real question?

Nank is the number 1. He has proven last year that he doesnt nèed 40 hitouts to score 80, so playing more ruck should result more time on ball. More hitouts, more possessions, more points. I see 95 average as distinctively possible.

Interesting you choose someone like Vince when 20-30k more is laird/adams/rance/montagna.
Lack of pendlebury is strange considering you've gone JPK over hanners considering the early season histories
Nankervis could be a top 5 ruckmen, he's so similar to grundy but rarely has a high clanger count

I have reasons for each one of those selections
Vince is consistent, more durable, cheaper and average 103 up until the bye last year (From where on he played under an injury cloud for the rest of the year)
I want to go one of Pendles & Treloar to start the year, ill be happy with both in my final team and see more upside in starting Treloar and upgrading to Pendles. Hanners has only had 2 year averaging over 105 compared to JPK who has had 5, Hanners has missed 10 games over the last 7 years, JPK only 3.
Im not choosing Nankervis as a ruck, as I don't think he is keeper material there, but I do see him as potentially averaging enough in the FWD line to be a keeper and at worst good coverage/ loophole option with Sandi/FWD Rookie.

Nice Team LS,  very deep in the forwards.  Reasonable backs,  Vince I am not sure if he will average 100 but should do 90+.   Therefore gone Laird at D2 and McMillan as D3

Updated team

No Gawn or Goldy, but option to drop Mitchell to a rookie and upgrade to one of these.
I just see Mitchell + Witts outscoring Goldy + SPP and making more cash overall.

Thoughts?

Nige

I think I agree about Titchell/Witts outscoring Goldy/SPP. Only just though. Making more cash overall is probably valid foo. It's a pretty nice looking team all up.

Bully

Really nice team, I like it a lot.

Tossing up 2 changes

Doc to Thurlow
Witts to Goldy

I think taking Goldy is a better option than Doc, as he is more proven and going to be harder to upgrade too, where in def I may have more options for upgrades. Thurlow to me is even with Witts, but at the higher price.

Ringo

I would wait and see who North name for Rd 1 - If Preuss named would be wary but if Daw named over Preuss go for it.  Preuss does not seem to have the forward presence that Goldy has hence my concern.
Apart from that do not mind the changes.
Nice Team that I like a lot. Slightly different to mine

I have decided not to run with Danger, This allows me to go the bonafida prems rather than the so-so prems (Bont, Cripps etc that others are going whom I don't feel are ready to reach that 110 average)

Still have 70k in the bank so I could upgrade Mitchell to a Rocky/Priddis/Neale/Ablett/Merrett also providing me with some extra cash for the required rookie changes.

Well good luck Danger was clearly a cut above all other mids last year expect this to continue this year

Yes he was and he is priced accordingly. I feel that while he is going to be highest scoring player, the additional cash has allowed an extra premium and better overall scoring potential, 1 less trade required.

An average under his current price point and ill feel like im ahead. (Assuming he doesn't hit a 180 cap score for everyone)

That is a massive D1,D2 spend in defense.

Shaw was tagged heavily in the 2nd half of last season and average 87.5 from round 14 to the preliminary final. He will be tagged every week and is overpriced massively. Personally I have never considered starting him this year which will be against what a lot of people are doing.

Can Docherty score at a level which will see him be worth the spend if he does not move into the midfield? 600k for a defender is a massive spend.

Selwood does not play a game in Geelong until round 9. Take out the Simonds Stadium games and he averaged 100 last year. I think he is a better upgrade option.

I'd be looking at dropping one of Docherty or Shaw to Adams and upgrading Selwood to Dangerfield.

Ballsy rucks but both are number 1 rucks and hard to ignore the obvious value.

The rest of the side has a lot of mid price risk but every side has those risks this year if rookies are not named.

Strong side.
