The Rough could answer the forward line conundrum.
2011 11 games, 101.4 ave
2012 20 games, 103.7 ave
2013 22 games, 98.4 ave
2014 20 games, 95.7 ave
2015 20 games, 90.8 ave
2016 -
2017 $367,100
Glad he's healthy first and foremost. From a SC perspective I'll be all over him if he has a good few months and is named R1.

The average has been dropping off over the last few years, but I think he's a pretty good bet for an 85+ once he's back into the swing of things, not a lot of options up front this year so he will be a very popular starting pick.

His average has been dropping off.
At his price and with the lack of options he is definitely worth considering.
85+ would be a reasonable expectation.
Awesome just to be talking about him as an option.

What about Harley Bennell to complement Roughy as 3/4 forwards?

Bennell starts, but a big query over his calf atm. Might not even be ready by rd1

45 games in the last four seasons and is still dealing with the calf as said - way too big of a risk atm, would need a good pre-season to be a worthy and smart consideration.

quinny88

Will most likely be between Bennell and Rough for F4 in my team. A lot of water to go under the bridge over the pre season yet though

GoLions

Don't have him in my side atm but may downgrade Macrae to him, struggling to think of a reason not to pick him at that price. Honestly can't believe he's back though, such good news for him!

DunnyBrush

Insane to start Roughy.
Reassess mid year.

Hardly insane. 367k is like a 65 average, he's been above 75 every year since 2008. Absolutely worth the risk, potential 90+ average fwd for 367k. Or wait til mid year and pick him up for 500+...

meow meow

Will he be in the best handful of players in his position? Highly unlikely, the dude had cancer and anyone expecting him to simply pick up where he left off is delusional.

Will he raise his price/average by 30+? Doubt it.

Just like Bob he's in no man's land. Pick a premo or a rookie instead.

He's no more of a risk than anyone coming off an LTI, he had immunotherapy, not chemo, so he hasn't been physically ravaged like the chemo stereotype goes... If he's training well and lines up round 1, it's not at all delusional to think he could be a top 10 fwd. He's had 12 months off, so definitely one to watch, and I'm not expecting him to be 100+ from day one, but it's a fitness issue, we know he knows how to play.

Add to that they have been hit by ceglar getting injured he might get a little but of ruck duty which is great for his scoring. To pick him though i think you need to accept an average of about 80 over the first half of the year.

im not going him at the moment as im going super cheap up front but he inst a bad pick. As you said no worse then picking a guy coming of an ACL who has been unable to move and run for a while. Also its not like he is a midfielder, they will probably stick him as a marking forward more then usual.

Couldn't agree more. Will start slow I think and should average around the 80-90 range and probably smack bang in the middle at 85. Has declined every year since 2012 by about 3-5ppg and misses 1-2 games every year on average. Bound to miss more to manage him and unlikely to roam far up the ground as he used to, think he will play a lot as a stay at home forward. Not gonna pick him myself but could see why you would. If it was to generate some cash I'd also be wary, dunno if he'd make you more than $100k if that
