I find it extremely interesting that you still going goldy sandi over Gawn sandi. I know you love goldy. The saving definitely has tempted me but I'm certain Gawn beats goldy.

Goldy is the best ruck in the comp certainly not going to pick somebody more expensive then him who will average less. If i could i would start Goldy Goldy

There are only two possible ruck
Combos this year.

Gawn sandi or Gawn goldy. Anyone that has otherwise are just making up the numbers. There is no upside for grundy. He isn't a good tap ruck. He already gets a lot of possessions he isn't going to put there and average 4-5 more possessions a game

Love this team.   though probably have treloar over rocky given all the injured players returning.    Beams, JOM almost forcing people to start them.

So many teams including mine have ended up here with lack of midfield rookies and encouraging signs from Omear'a,Swallow & Rough.
Every team on every forum now looking the same with the exception of a few different starting prems.

Which premos start stronger than those upgraded too is going to be all the difference this year.

Marchbank,  Neuman,  Pickett,  Wigg,  Goldstein,   Lynch,  Gunston,   McLuggage,   and   Schoenmakers
                                                            V
Thurlow,   Z Guthrie,   W Brodie,   J Barrett,   Gawn,   J Caddy,   T Nankervis,   T Taranto,   and   J Bowes
are the difference at this point of time.  No doubt we'll both have many more changes before the first real bounce in anger.   But it just bears out what you said about similar teams. I usually like to start with at least 2 to 3 real POD prems or promissing midpricers and thought I had that with Jelwood,  Caddy,  Nankervis  and Rockty. To quote Eddie M " what a difference a week can make in football "

done quite abit of tinkering and done some clever (well i think clever) things with DPP. Certainly can see some defenders or mid rookies getting dropped. So if hibberd is named round 1 i might make a link there to cover both lines and to exploit loopholes.

also i needed to make some cash to do this so basically downgrade my super premo mid to a D/M premo and then a super premo forward down to higgins (which i dont love)

This was to get in nank to completely secure the ruck line

Pretty similar to what I'm rolling with right now, except Thurlow which I'm not really sure on but I understand the pick.

My reasoning (And I assume yours too) is that I want to have a team that is fairly cookie cutter, with some smart, semi-PODs like Goldy (Shoe in for 105+), Rocky (Though I would pass for now with Beams healthy), Hanners (Safe, good bye), JPK (Ditto) and the like, and then back in my ability to make good trades. Not going to mess around with picks like Witts, Bont, Steele and others like that (Except Nank who's a relatively safe pick imo).

Also, not sure about Roughy (Though I have him in my team for now too). He's got a pretty limited upside and if he doesn't come back averaging 90+ or so, then he will need to be traded. Not many other options to fit in the structure and at 40% ownership you kind of have to have him just in case.

Really solid side, I had a similiar structure but instead of Thurlow had another cheap rookie. Looks as if there will be some risk around some of those defense rookies holding their spots so at least with Thurlow and marchbank they have great JS and ya will only need 2 out of the 4 cheaper rookies to be playing.

Strong premiums, can't fault any of them. We have the same mid structure and same rucks. Spencer worries me a but with Gawn and with Sandilands as a stepping stone I'm confident we will get him a fair bit cheaper. Can't see north playing Daw + Pruess, if they only select 1 then il lock Goldy away cos doubt it will affect him too much. He could go huge in r1.

Caddy I had in my team for a while also but so many doubts around the forward premiums this year I'm less hesitant to commit to many. So no issues with ya forwards. I'm still surprised to see the love for McRae diminish.
