Will be one of Black or Parsons I'd say, and one of EVW/Melican

Black was good today, so reckon he gets the nod so far (Plus Parsons might not come straight back in)

Either way, next week is the perfect time for the double downgrade

I don't like those back rookie options as downgrades.

Both not strong enough to play on the field.

My backline for example -

Shaw, Adams, Laird, Marchbank, Otten, Hampton (Newman, Stewart)

Not worth downgrading Stewart and I would rather upgrade Marchbank, Otten and Hampton.

I think you can downgrade one of Marchbank/Otten/Hampton eventually, but def upgrade the other two. That said, they're all going so well I won't be touching them for ages. Newman/Stewart is the same bench I have, and if Newman doesn't return within a week or two then he has to go for EVW/Melican because cash generation is required, and those 4 are basically all the same when you factor in JS. Stewart at D8 I'd like to hang onto just because JS doesn't seem to be a problem like it is with Newman/EVW/Melican

Bully

Keep Otten & Hampton until the byes, they are perfect upgrade material in round 12/13.

Melican has shaky JS surely? As far as I could see he had Aliir's spot in the side who I rate reasonably well.

Yeah JS is dodgy, just like Newman. TBH I'm hoping EVW gets a good crack at it - just need 1 rookie downgrade option eventually

Stewart's score was a welcome release. Just need Pickett to grab a 70 odd

Any Hawks supporters able to chime in about Blake Hardwick?
134k forward, playing his 2nd game now so is an option this week
63 last week and 65 atm with 5 mins to go
What's the JS like?

Would be occupying the same spot that Miles and Duryea have been this year, so probably not the best job security going around. In saying that, his ball use was mostly very impressive today, as well as his attack on the ball. Wouldn't be surprised to see him play for a few more weeks, but rookie picks in the Hawks team in last few years have only played sporadically so it would be best to look elsewhere, espeically when there are a couple of reasonable downgrade options coming up.
Birchall also to come back into a half back role in a couple of weeks.

EVW is the better prospect I agree, as someone else said he played above his score which is usually uncommon for rookies.

Not sold on him having solid JS, but he is young and has potential, But Birchall comes back soon, though there would be about 5 other players i would drop before him
Dont think i would bring him tbh though

Bellcho and Myers had a field day in the VFL. Myers could be pretty close to an AFL recall in the next fortnight.

To elaborate;

Myers 34 disposals (20 kicks), 8 marks, 7 tackles, 1 goal, 135 DT
Bellcho 16 disposals (14 kicks), 3 marks, 2 tackles, 29 hitouts, 2 goals, 110 DT

But this was in addition to a lot of great performances - Howlett triple double (kicks handballs tackles), Langford almost a quadruple double (9 kicks 13 handballs 8 marks 11 tackles), Mutch 25 disposals 9 marks, Gleeson 24 disposals 11 marks, Hocking 22 disposals 7 marks 6 tackles, and Dea 23 disposals 9 marks all topping the DT ton, so potentially take this with a grain of salt for each player.
