The Playing Rookies Thread 2017 Edition

Alright, so Berry has been an absolute flop which I'm disappointed about because I was hoping he would be good

This week we have Berry, Balic, Parsons and Williamson on the bubble as well as a few expensive guys in Glugg, Logue and Menzel

What are peoples thoughts?

Personally, I think Balic is the only one I'll be grabbing this week. Eddy and Pickett the two in line to move for him.

Then next week we'll have Cox, Fisher and Long

Slim pickings overall

Balic this week and Fisher next week is all that really interests me. Will keep an eye on Long but didn't look good today

Really need rookies to come through so I can start upgrading!

pickett and eddy need to go but not much on offer. balic is a pass from me. maybe fisher next seek if he backs up his rd 1 score.

Yeah, I reckon I'll grab him if straight back into the side as well. Scoring has been decent enough, and guys like Bowes and possibly Houston may be ready to be culled by then as well.

I wouldn't play him at F6 or M8 for another week or 2.

Rookies have to serve a bench apprenticeship for a couple of weeks in my team unless they are just guns like Newman.  8)

Expecting Balic to settle down a bit more this week and his scoring range to be 50-95.   Surely, Ross keeps playing the youth.  Freo has looked better with a younger team on the park

Personally I think Balic looks a good trade but is he worth trading in for a rookie who has made bugger all $? I have Hannan & Eddy spudding it up on my FWD bench who have both made near on no $. My MID bench is Parfitt (cover) Mountford ($0) & Barrett who has an excellent BE if he can just snag another game or 2. I have already used 4 trades. 2 injury (Gawn & Smith (Melb)) & 2 correctional (Hibberd & Caddy) so provided the likes of JOM/Swallow/Newman/Houston/Shaw & Hampton are all named I am going to wait & hope my existing rookies can gain at least some money soon.

He'll rise bugger all this week really, which is why I will give him the extra week, then next week I'll be jumping on the best out of Balic/Fisher/Spencer. Fisher could spud it up this week and I am hoping Spencer backs up his ton.

Just a word of caution here - Southport (Lions opponents Rd 3) are the bottom team in NEAFL and lions had 12 players with Senior games experience in their team. Lions on top of NEAFL as well.

EVW been Emergency the last dozen weeks now, a clear 'BOG' last week in the VFL. Surely this week. ???
