Well, Pickett would be making (some) cash, and Barrett wouldn't be :P

What you need to look at is how many upgrades you feel you will need and how much cash you will need to do it. This will give you an indication on how many sideways you can get away with before it impacts your EOY team. Normally i work off a max 3 correction trades, but feel this year i might need a few extra downgrade trades, so trying to keep it to two.

95% of people are in the same boat at the moment and it will comedown to making the right decisions here to be able to effectively finish your team in the fastest possible time.

Here are 12 rookies that are most of the issues, I think if you only have or had 4-5 of these you are doing well.

Barrett - Risk of being dropped this week, scoring well enough to make some cash if he gets games.
Pickett - Risk of being dropped this week or near future, scoring poorly will need to pick up to make any cash for owners
Parfitt - Playing this week, but scoring poorly, cannot see huge competition for the HFF role at Geelong, but by no means secure JS.
Florent - Slightly more expensive and scoring poorly, will make little to no cash without an increase in scoring. Unlikely to hold spot long term
Eddy - Put in a good shift last week and will get atleast 1 price rise, not sure about long term JS, but hold if you have.
Hibberd - Dropped
Hannan - Strong R1, weak R2 so only 1 good price rise, shaky JS with kent coming back.
Turner - Will make cash, but scoring is not enough to make it worth bringing him in
Simpkin - Dropped
Mountford - Dropped
J Smith - Got injured after 1 round
Shoey - Dropped

This is why im holding my trades this week and backing my premiums Im worried about (Tuohy and Lynch) to improve. Should hopefully allow me a better chance to finish my team easier than everyone else. Only have 5 from this list too thankfully.

Got 5 of the smelly ones, plus traded sympkin last week.     One trade this week to bring in WHE for Pickett.   Holding other in case bloody goldy curls up in the foetal position again at the last minute.

I have 5 also but have traded Joel Smith to Houston this week.

Hibberd to Newman locked in for next week. So that leaves Barrett, Pickett and Parfit to deal with but hopefully willmake enough cash to trade down when other rookies are on boil. Balic, Berry, Logue etc.

I have 4 of them:
Hibberd - just wait for Berry and Newman
Eddy - happy to keep as slow burner at F8
Pickett - sitting on mids bench for now
Parfitt - same as Pickett
I missed out on WHE and Houston, but have all the other top rookies
I am considering GHS - WHE
or possibly Picket/Parfitt - Houston, but can hold out to see how Balic and Hayward go
Trying to avoid trading at this point unless there is a strong case for it

What are peoples thoughts on Bowes? I've spent a lot of money on a guy who has looked absolutely shower house. Is he eventually going to get it together? Only problem is I'm like 15k short of WHE.

Bowes > WHE is possible, but I don't think there's any 102k players around besides Eddy who I already have.

I actually think Houston will be more reliable/consistent but Butler might have the better JS

If Houston performs well again this weekend and DBJ is poor...DBJ could make way for Pittard instead.
