Power mid-forward Matt White is a week by week proposition with a calf injury @AFL

Yet another to go down.

With the pool of mid rookies decreasing is any one looking at Dom Sheed for only $267k.  Admittedly a few of Eagles Stars did not play but he looked impressive.  Probably one to keep an eye on. Swallow and Sheed would not be the worst M7 & M8.

Would rather Scooter for $280k if going down that route. Much more upside than Sheed

Holz

one to monitor closely would be Matt Kennedy,

ball machine just needs to crack into the squad priced around the same as the top 5 draftees and in my opinion is more talented and has a year under his belt. Just tough being GWS.

This comment from Hinkley worries me as well epecially with mid options drying up.

"He's done everything right. which gives him an opportunity, not a guarantee, to play early in 2017" Ken Hinkley on Sam Powell-Pepper

My thoughts exactly as well. Will we have any rookies in the midfield this season?

Not worried at all, SPP is still a lock for round 1

Of course Hinkley isn't going to come out now and guarantee it publicly

I'm glad this is happening ... gonna make for a fun year and finally mid priced picks will need to be selected

Otten a real chance for R1 due to Crows injuries.  JS a bit shaky tho I would imagine

Experienced backman Andy Otten will play his first game for the Crows since 2014, while midfielder Myles Poholke is the only one of the club's draftees from last year who will take to the field on Friday night.

Pyke said the Crows were keen to tap into Otten's experience after a difficult period for the veteran.

"Andy was one of a number of guys last year who was right on the edge of playing," Pyke said.

"He's an experienced defender, he's got great leadership and I know he's super keen to take the opportunity that's presented and push his claims for round one."

Part of me hopes these two don't get named rd 1 so the resulting carnage leads to some interesting team structures  ;D
