The Pies have Keefe Scharenberg Ramsay Elliot and Thomas all back and trying to get a game can't see all of them playing round 1 plus the No1 pick McGrath will have to do better to line up round 1 but it is only the first game , same as any other year we will be scrambling to change our perfect teams prior to round 1 because most of the rookies we picked are not playing  :P

Thomas is still rookie listed I believe, so I've scrubbed him for now. Scharenberg and Keefe should still play round 1 if they're both fit, and as RD said it's more about their JS than scoring at this stage.

McGrath actually seemed to get more comfortable as the game went on, I think he'll be okay. Plenty more time to have a look at these guys.

The issue for me with Keefe is where they played him.   If he is forward and pinch hitting in ruck dont see him scoring more than 55-60 at best and often lower than that?

Yep that's a fair point - him and Cox seemed to be switching between ruck and forward all night. Will be interesting to see where Keefe slots in when Grundy comes in. Hopefully next JLT game the three of them are playing.

For the record I don't have Keefe in, but keeping an eye on him.

Not that he wasn't already a lock but,

HINKLEY: POWELL-PEPPER can play. I have a habit of playing players who work hard and SAM does. Watch him play you'll like him.

Also, hearing very good things about Hampton too - Keeffe, Scharenberg and Hampton could all be genuine starting options, which would be awesome

As much as Stewart scored well ... I'm still worried about his selection in the side ... made some stupid decisions

Was his first game so hopefully they teach him and it gets through To him

Sabretooth Tigers

 ;)

How about Zach Guthrie's 91 but still on the Geelong rookie list. In a team that could be very hard to break in but does anybody know anything about him ??

He looks about 12 and if he were to debut this year it would be ahead of schedule.

Was his first game back since his 2 year lay off. You have to give him some slack. Rookie priced players with rock solid JS are gold and hard to come by. He plays which he will he should be in every team. 60 average is plenty for a back rookie who plays every week.

Scharen has least JS but a bit better scoring ability and he too should be in most teams if named. The only thing that could stop him being picked is the 3 collingwood boys in defence. Adams, Keefe and Shaz is a little much

Son of Shaun looked alright. An injury or two in the next couple of matches might open a door for him.

Based on what I watching Newman will play.
Vickers Willis won't be moving from my backline either.

Hopefully Darcy Cameron can earn his spot

Florent looks a smart player and surely is ahead of foote for a game.

Hibberd isn't doing it for me. Likewise turner. Neither looks like they will score big.

Thoughts?

Looks good for Newman and Florent. Cameron been good but is there a spot there with Buddy, Tippett, Naismith etc? I am unsure?

None of the North rookies in the 1st half have done much. A heavy reliance on their senior players and they are behind.

Vickers willis is looking good to me, the concern for me with turner was always scoring capacity and consistency but he should be best 22 for what ever that worth
