Turner was massive finals of 2015 and last few rounds. When he played full games he averaged very good.

JKH is a chance for round 1.

Kent is injured and won't play in the JLT series so is unlikely for round 1.

The Dees generally play two small forwards, Garlett will be one. JKH the frontrunner to be the other at the moment after impressing this pre-season.

151k forward

Geez haven't seen you around here for ages man !!

Welcome back Ben :)

What about Melksham and others?

You'd know more than me, but I don't see how JKH is best 22, even with Kent not available

Thanks mate.

Melksham has been training with the defenders and if he plays round 1 then I assume he will play majority on the HBF. Hibberd a likely round 1 starter also off half back. Lewis will play round 1 and will likely play majority midfield.

JKH is competing for a small forward spot against Garlett, Kent and B Kennedy. As mentioned, Garlett and Kent are likely the first two in line with JKH third in line so no Kent could pave the way for JKH to play round 1.

I guess the issue is that even if JKH plays round 1 then he could make way for Kent once he's fit.

JKH can also play mid though so that versatility could keep him in the side if he plays well enough.

After watching Myers and Scharenberg tonight, I'm a little afraid about the rookie situation now haha

eaglesman

Myers will be right but keefe and scharenberg looked so poor.

Pray for Stewart and ryan

Take it easy, it was all 3 of them first games in well over 12 months

Their JS is more important than their scoring for mine too

They'll go 60+ which is what we need

The Pies have Keefe Scharenberg Ramsay Elliot and Thomas all back and trying to get a game can't see all of them playing round 1 plus the No1 pick McGrath will have to do better to line up round 1 but it is only the first game , same as any other year we will be scrambling to change our perfect teams prior to round 1 because most of the rookies we picked are not playing  :P

Thomas is still rookie listed I believe, so I've scrubbed him for now. Scharenberg and Keefe should still play round 1 if they're both fit, and as RD said it's more about their JS than scoring at this stage.

McGrath actually seemed to get more comfortable as the game went on, I think he'll be okay. Plenty more time to have a look at these guys.

agree RD schra been out for 2 years

Agree, can't read too much into these early games, I just use them as a general guide particularly for rookies and the scoring, early-on, is incidental.  Like I won't be rushing out to get De Goey into my team based on last night's performance because, if I remember correctly, he played similarly in early games last year but went on to average 75 or so for the year, which is fine from
a team pov but not from a SC pov.

The issue for me with Keefe is where they played him.   If he is forward and pinch hitting in ruck dont see him scoring more than 55-60 at best and often lower than that?

Hopefully there are better options, as 55-60 at his price is not worth it.  At that price, u want him on-field, and that scoring just doesn't cut it
