Why would Scoenmakers be any more of a certainty for games this year? They haven't lost any forwards and gained Vickery. Roughead is back now too. Maybe in defence but would still only expect 50-60 from him

Because he was injured and thry rushed him back to play finals and every article said how important he was to the team. Yes vickera roughy are in now but hes pretty much always best 22 when no injured

Yeah fair enough :)
Still think it's unlikely they would go with all of Gunston, Roughy, Vickery and Schoey in the forward line though? Even the backline will be hard to get a gig in with Gibson, Stratton and Frawley as the locked in talls

RaisyDaisy

They rushed him back for finals because they didn't have Rough and Vickery

They clearly like him, but he's not a lock in the 22, and with his scoring history I don't think I'd entertain him

I know that most people are starting Strnadica at R3, and it makes absolute sense if you're starting Sandi too, but I just keep hearing more and more good things about Darcy Cameron

Stoked we got him in WXV, but I reckon this guy is a certainty to get games at one point or another this year

Question is though, do we start him at R3 (If he gets named Rd1) or do we get cagey and keep Strnadica at R3 and start Cameron at F7/8?

If I start Sandi, then I reckon Strnadica has to be R3, and Cameron in the forwards

enzedder

Not starting Sandi but Strnadica still appeals due to Freo's draw and loopholing... add to that his 102k price and RF status which might prove handy... so he's good for everyone.

Ringo

enzedder has nailed the main reason for Strnadica, Perfect loophole with Freo playing 13 Saturday night/Sunday games compared to Sydneys 5.

Like the idea of Cameron on Fwd bench though if he starts but need to compare with other forward options who start

Ringo

In yesterdays intrclub which was a virtual probables v possibles match, (Orange Team comprised of Senior players) McCluggage played with the Senior Team. So he may be firming for a start although Rich was rested and Rocky replaced him for second half. Had some nice touches though.

sammy123

bowes played well for GC in intra game. ainsworth rested 2nd half with hip injury. said precautionary though

Bully

May have to temper expectations on Bolton, did some occasional nice work but is very light. Lacked a bit of discipline too, flew for some marks against bigger opponents when he should have been planted at the base of the pack.

Perth radio station @6PRSportsToday reporting popular forward rookie Willie Rioli could miss 3 months with a badly torn hamstring.

Bad news as a West Coast fan and supercoacher  :'(

Lots of people had him on the bench with Eddy

RaisyDaisy

I didn't have Rioli on the bench - can't see him just walking into our side straight away

Hopefully he recovers soon though :)

You'll never trade your R3 anyway and he will make stuff all points. Might as well go the good loophole option I think.

I don't agree with this. If the situation was that Cameron was going to be a regular starting rookie then he has cash generating potential just like any other position whilst potentially providing cover as well. Once he matures to peak value a downgrade to strnadica and the cash generation is as valuable as any position. We just aren't afforded this luxury usually.

Betts said that Hampton is "dominating in the midfield" and will get plenty of time in the JLT

Add Smedts to the list. I read an article on him today and that has me thinking he might be an option. There is a position available off half back but he has actually been training as an outside mid. His competition right now is Boekhorst for a spot and he hasn't exactly been awe inspiring.

Kerridge and Dyl Buckley are also competition for that spot.
