Tim Smith from the dees probably a bigger chance than you'd think to get early games. If we go with 3 talls up front (and Watts plays up the ground, so it's probably likely) then it's between Smith and Pedo for that 3rd spot.

Adelaide don't have a history of giving rookies in their first year a lot of games

I'm sure Galloooch will get a game but like Milera, CEY etc he'll be in and out

At this early stage I've got the following place holders

Keefe, Berry, Ryan and Stewart down back

Myers, SPP,  Pickett and Graham

Black, Drew, Bolton and Eddy

Ringo

As a Lions supporter like the look of Berry as well. At 192cms has the ability to be used of HB as well.  Been training as an inside mid but plenty of competition there,

My place holders are:
McGrath, Keeffe, Scharenberg, Berry, Ryan
Powell Pepper, Myers, Pickett, Graham
McLuggage, Ainsworth, Thomas, Drew and Eddy

Strnadica as R3 as perfect vc loophole option. He will probably start most weeks.  ;)

I haven't read back very far so don't know if it's been covered yet but what's people's thoughts of Riley Knight as an alternative to Ainsworth, McCluggage etc?

No, more expensive and never scored over 75 in 10 games. Take the punt on the rookie id say. He might still struggle to break into the crows team.

Hoping Hampton or Scharenberg make the cut, Keefe doesn't excite me on iota.

Apparently Keeffe has been training with forwards all preseason

Best 22 good for 60+ most weeks is the least of our worries. Locked and loaded

This link may assist you in deciding on rookies. Still an opinion but some nice information in there

Just to set the record straight re. Josh Rotham, he's most definitely not an endurance runner, he's a bonafide sprinter with outstanding leap. His beep was in the the 12's, same as Scrimshaw, so buyer beware with these two. I'm a big fan of Rotham but I don't expect him to be running out games of AFL just yet.

I've seen a few teams with him on their bench

Isn't Hibberd a better chance early on?

I heard they are looking at Keefe as a FWD, backup RU.  Could help with his SC output.

Couple of quotes from Buckley if you can trust what he says:

Bucks says that Keeffe is likely to play as a forward/second ruck. Ruck role improves job security.

Collingwood: "We're not going to push him up before he is ready" Nathan Buckley on Matt Scharenberg

So Keeffe may be the better option than Scharenberg but a wait and see.

Second ruck makes a big difference.
