Curious to get peoples thoughts

Beams and Swallow seem to be and will be very popular but what about passing on both and just going with a prem and rookie?

Would eliminate the risk they both present, and I'm looking at it seriously. Could be kind of PODish not having them too
Team currently doesn't have Beams and I don't plan on it. I have Swallow although if I downgrade Macrae to Roughead it'll allow me to upgrade Swallow to Heppell.

Probably not gonna start Beams but I can't pass on Swallow

Ringo

Depends where you have them RD. ATM I have Beams at M6 and Swallow at M7. If using at higher then I would consider prem and rookie. Still not 1oo% decided either myself.

RaisyDaisy

Yeah I currently have them at 6 and 7 too, but agree with Tom that I don't think I can pass on Swallow

Will score more than a rookie, and should make 150k+ too which is the same as a rookie

Ideally you will be hoping he comes out and gets to a point where you can downgrade or upgrade him into the Port/GC bye.
Best case scenario he averages 100 and makes $200k approx going into R9, realistically it is more likely to be 90 average and $140k-150k gained
Worst case he gets injured and you have to downgrade to a rookie or he averages 70 and only makes $70k.

I have passed on both at this stage. I don't think I'll pick beams no matter what he does in preseason despite initially thinking he was a lock unless rookies don't look like getting games.

Looking at my squad, I can only see swallow being picked at m7 which looks as if we have similar structure. Would require me upgrading a 123k rookie mid so would need to find 160k.
Would mean juggling to something like.
Gawn to goldy for 57k.
Shaw to rance/Adams/Tmac for 41k/49k/89k
Vince to Hartlett for the 78k.
Would prob go Tmac and Hartlett as I believe Gawn is worth the 57k over goldy

Hartlett should be getting way more love in my opinion, would take him over Vince even if they were the same price.

Yup I agree. I'm a Hartlett fan here as well and I feel probably more uneasy about Vince than I do Hartlett. Wouldn't know where to spend the money so might just pocket the cash.

Hartlett more love? And why is that Bully?

RaisyDaisy

I've had Hartlett in my side since SC opened

Yeah he's a little risky, but besides last year he's had years of proven 90+avg which for defense is a bargain at 420k

2011 - 92.2
2012 - 91.4
2013 - 90.8
2014 - 97.3
2015 - 101.1

* Between 2013-2015 only missed 3 games

2015 only 3 scores under 80
2014 an injury effected 13 has dragged his average down below 100

The risk with Hartlett is where he plays but I suspect he'll be back on the ball in 2017. If so then he could easily be a top 6 defender and at his price that would be a bargain.

Yep playing behind the ball last year hurt his scoring. Needs to be back in the middle

No mention of Houli, even by Tigers fans which is a worry.

Averages better every odd year and thats this year.

Cmon tigers fans talk him up

Houli isn't the worst pick in the world but his best year produced 96, I think that was an anomaly and 90 would be a more reasonable expectation.
