This is probably my favourite team that I've seen! Millsyyyyy, some very calculated risks you've taken and I hope they pay off for ya, I'm really tempted to go with a similar structure in backline to fatten up else where! Stick with it son

Ringo

Nice team - Very similar to mine.

Head to Head
Mills v Rance
Roberton v Murphy
Rockliff v Zorko
Bontempelli v Jelwood.

few rookies different though. but waiting to see who starts.

High praise indeed coming from great coaches...
Thanks.
Higgins is the biggest risk I think but can see him being the biggest success story too.
I like Howe as another pick but couldn't afford him. Think Robertson will score really well in a +1 rebounding role now that he'll be freed up given the inclusions of Brown and Carlisle to take on the big boys.

Nice team NZ.   Mills looks like going on from last year and anything around 95 will be a great win.   Like Howe and had him in my teams earlier.    Also did the Cameron dpp with Strndica.
I dont see JS for Taranto unfortunately so he is out.
Selwood/Kennedy v Bont/Rocky       Rocky is a great scorer but i am convinced Beams impacts his scores.  And he will play more forward this year.   Mind you never seen the Brissie pig look as fit as he does now.   God help us if converts fitness to better performances.

Got to admit I would be pretty happy to start Rd1 with your team.   Great balance and still potential upside.

DEF: Shaw, Laird, Roberton, Hampton, Otten, Vickers-Willis (Stewart, Z Guthrie)

MID: Dangerfield, Pendlebury, Treloar, Bontempelli, Fyfe, Beams, O'Meara, D.Swallow (Powell Pepper, Pickett, Hibberd)

RUC: Gawn, Goldstein (Strndica)

FWD: Dahlhaus, Roughead, Nankervis, Taranto, Bowes, Parfitt (Houston, Eddy)

Edited my team slightly to bring in Marchbank.
Sticking to my guns with Goldy and Gawn. They might fall in price. Their ruck time might be affected. I might regret not starting Sandi but I might be on to a winner by starting the best. Time will tell.
I'm hoping Z Guthrie and Barrett get elevated and the mid/fwd rookies do their job. 26k in the bank still in case Guthrie needs to become Otten or similar. I'm still considering Steele as a mid/fwd option as well but might wait till R3 on him and see if a corrective trade could bring him in. Not completely settled, as starting rookies will dictate the shape of things... such as Cameron.

DEF: Shaw, Laird, Roberton, Marchbank, Hampton, Vickers-Willis (Stewart, Z Guthrie)

MID: Dangerfield, Pendlebury, Treloar, Bontempelli, Fyfe, Beams, O'Meara, D.Swallow (Powell Pepper, Parfitt, Barrett)

RUC: Gawn, Goldstein (Strndica)

FWD: Dahlhaus, Roughead, Nankervis, Miles, Pickett, Eddy (Cameron, Houston)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The obvious change in terms of balance would be...

DEF: Shaw, Laird, Roberton, Marchbank, Hampton, Vickers-Willis (Stewart, Z Guthrie)

MID: Dangerfield, Pendlebury, Treloar, Bontempelli, Fyfe, Beams, O'Meara, D.Swallow (Powell Pepper, Parfitt, Pickett)

RUC: Goldstein, Sandilands (Strndica)

FWD: Dahlhaus, Roughead, Nankervis, Steele, Taranto, Miles (Eddy, Houston)

...but that would mean dumping big Max. >:( Feeling torn.

I'm too worried about eddy and picket posting 40's on-field and can't bring myself to start them...what are your thoughts?

They could post 40 in the odd week... expecting an average around 65-70
Team 1- Gawn 115, Eddy 65/70 Pickett 65/70= 245/255
Team 2- Sandi 100, Taranto 80, Steele 90 = 270

Team 2 looks better points wise but Gawn as set and forget and Sandi as potential injury risk could be crippling early on.
Dunno.

RUCK: Sandi, Witts (Strnadica)
FWD: Dahlhaus, Nankervis, Roughead, Steele, Taranto, Butler (Eddy, Pickett)

Round 3...Rough to Higgins/Pickett to WHE...

DEF: Shaw, Laird, Roberton, Marchbank, McGrath, Otten (Hampton, Stewart)
MID: Danger, Pendles, Bont, Fyfe, Treloar, Beams, JOM, Swallow (Powell-Pepper, Barrett, Parfitt)

Whilst I'm not a fan of booting Rough I'm a happy Higgins owner and he is absolutely killing it in his new role.

Hope teams don't begin to clamp down on him.

Bringing in Newman for  Stewart and Miller for JOM this week.
Team will be...
Def: Shaw, Laird, Roberton, Marchbank, Newman, McGrath (Hampton, Otten)
Mids: Dangerfield, Pendlebury, Bontempelli, Fyfe, Treloar, Beams, Steele, Swallow (SPP, Parfitt, Barrett)
Rucks: Sandilands, Witts (Strnadica)
Fwds: Dahlhaus, Nankervis, Higgins, Miller, WHE, Butler (Taranto, Eddy)

#56
Def: Shaw, Laird, Roberton, Marchbank, Otten, McGrath (Hampton, Newman)
Mids: Dangerfield, Pendlebury, Bontempelli, Fyfe, Hannebery, Treloar, Beams, Swallow (SPP, Fisher, Barrett)
Rucks: Sandilands, Witts (Strnadica)
Fwds: Dahlhaus, Nankervis, Higgins, Miller, WHE, Butler (Parfitt, Eddy)

Looking ahead to next round...Swallow and Miller have been the weakest links two weeks running and as well as scoring poorly aren't going to make much cash in a hurry so have to go if I'm going to go forward.
Will give me a touch over 800k in the bank so...
Option A I can get an elite premo mid e.g Sloane and a fwd rookie around 117/123k e.g. Parsons/Balic
Option B I can get a premo fwd, probably Macrae and with the 270odd k left, get a cheap rookie and pocket the change for another week.
Option C I can get a premo fwd, probably Macrae and with the 270odd k left, switch McGrath to mids and upgrade a defender.... thoughts welcome....Edit: cant do C

Gandalf123

I like option C depending on what def premo you can get

Yeah... cocked that up...was thinking I'd have 270k + cashed up def to trade but if I've already traded Miller and Swallow I can't do another... duh... up too late last night. Out of Option A or B then.

enzedder

In light of lack of genuine must have forwards and the realisation that Miller may prove to be the equal of other options brought in eventually to fill F4-6 after Dahl, Macrae and Nank... I've cooled on the idea of trading him.

Now considering Swallow to Balic/ Parsons and Marchbank to Simpson who will be around $474k, having dropped from his initial $578k. Simmo's BE next week will be somewhere around 110 v Sydney so potentially he could fall even further whilst Marchbank could still make some more so the timing isn't perfect but better to have Simmo in sooner than later and probably not much of a financial difference to worry about.
Team would be...
Def: Shaw, Laird, Roberton, Simpson, Otten, McGrath (Hampton, Newman)
Mids: Dangerfield, Pendlebury, Bontempelli, Fyfe, Hannebery, Treloar, Beams, SPP (Balic, Fisher, Barrett)
Rucks: Sandilands, Witts (Strnadica)
Fwds: Dahlhaus, Nankervis, Higgins, Miller, WHE, Butler (Parfitt, Eddy)

Or I could let Marchbank and Swallow slow burn and reassess after another week. Reaching that uncertain point.
