Changed my mind again re: this week's trades.
As much as I want Simpson in defence at his cheap price, I've now decided to get Macrae into my forward line.
My reasoning for this is he is an absolute must have. A top 3 option, not just a top 6 fwd...and the sooner I get him the better. He has a high floor and is just about guaranteed to score well every week. His BE according to TooSerious is 92.
The others I have considered to bring in have higher BE's (Simpson 109, Franklin 131) and are not as consistent and not as important in their respective positions to own. Additionally the rookies I have in defence are scoring well, more so than the rookie fwds I have and as such it would probably be more beneficial to me to upgrade a fwd premo first as the rookie defender can stay on the ground and score 70-100, whilst a fwd rookie scoring 50-60 can be moved to the bench.

So this week's planned trades are:
WHE to Macrae
Swallow to Balic

Def: Shaw, Laird, Roberton, Marchbank, Otten, McGrath (Hampton, Newman)
Mids: Dangerfield, Pendlebury, Bontempelli, Fyfe, Hannebery, Treloar, Beams, SPP (Balic, Fisher, Barrett)
Rucks: Sandilands, Witts (Strnadica)
Fwds: Dahlhaus, Macrae, Nankervis, Higgins, Miller, Butler (Parfitt, Eddy)

Ringo

Looking at something similar Enzedder - Macraes B/e officially is 83.

Want Macrae this week so issue is who to downgrade with Roughy/WHE to Macrae

LordSneeze

Solid plan.
Would leave you 9 upgrades including the MP stepping stone. You could argue that Miller & Higgins are worth keeping for the full year and either be luxury upgrades or Bench cover come years end.

Good position to be sitting in.

HoleMeal

You would have to think Roberton my even become a keeper at D6.

Now is the perfect time to get Macrae with a low BE.

Saw the Essendon game this morning and WHE was hardly near it and with Wells playing now I suspect he will get less run through the middle. Watching the Hawthorn game now and if I had to keep one of the two it would be Rough. If the Hawks are up and about again that'll help his cause.

Thanks... hoping Miller and Higgins will be ok.

Started Roberton with him being a keeper in mind. He was never a stepping stone option.
As a +1 defender he is as good as any. Very happy with him... only wish I had started Howe over Shaw... would have an extra 100 pts in the bank and be ins much better financial position (80k diff R1... and Shaw would be a juicy trade in option)...oh well.

Def: Shaw, Laird, Roberton, Marchbank, Otten, McGrath (Hampton, Newman)
Mids: Dangerfield, Pendlebury, Bontempelli, Fyfe, Hannebery, Treloar, Beams, SPP (Balic, Fisher, Barrett)
Rucks: Sandilands, Witts (Strnadica)

Probably trade Marchbank to Simpson & Parfitt to Parsons.
If Parsons isn't named then Marchbank to EVW & Parfitt to Buddy.

sounds good. like those trades

With Beams out got Dusty instead and Parfitt became Parsons.
Current team...

Def: Shaw, Laird, Roberton, Marchbank, Otten, McGrath (Hampton, Newman)
Mids: Dangerfield, Pendlebury, Bontempelli, Fyfe, Hannebery, Treloar, D Martin, SPP (Balic, Fisher, Barrett)
Rucks: Sandilands, Witts (Strnadica)
Fwds: Dahlhaus, Macrae, Nankervis, Higgins, Miller, Butler (Parsons, Eddy)

Undecided about this week's trades so some advice wouldn't go astray.
Present thinking is...
Otten and Hampton to Docherty and McNiece
or
Butler and Hampton to Buddy and McNiece

Def: Shaw, Laird, Docherty, Roberton, Marchbank, McGrath (McNiece, Newman)
Mids: Dangerfield, Pendlebury, Bontempelli, Fyfe, Hannebery, Treloar, D Martin, SPP (Balic, Fisher, Barrett)
Rucks: Sandilands, Witts (Strnadica)
Fwds: Dahlhaus, Macrae, Nankervis, Higgins, Miller, Butler (Parsons, Eddy)
or
Def: Shaw, Laird, Roberton, Marchbank, Otten, McGrath (McNiece, Newman)
Mids: Dangerfield, Pendlebury, Bontempelli, Fyfe, Hannebery, Treloar, D Martin, SPP (Balic, Fisher, Barrett)
Rucks: Sandilands, Witts (Strnadica)
Fwds: Dahlhaus, Macrae, Nankervis, Franklin, Higgins, Miller (Parsons, Eddy)

From a bye perspective Buddy and Docherty both have the R11 bye. Share it with Dahl, Macrae, Bont, Hanners and Roberton (got some rookies too but could trade Marchbank, Newman, Fisher and Barrett) so think that's sweet as not overloaded with additional one or two premos that others have such as JPK, MM, Rocky, Zorko or even Steele.
Otten has a BE in 90s and with a low score could lose in the vicinity of 15k
Franklin has a low BE and with an average to good score will make in the vicinity of 20k.
Docherty will likely stay within 5k of present price.
Financially I'm leaning to the Buddy trade.
Consistency wise with less risk involved Dochers gets the nod.
?
Or is there another option I'm not seeing.

Ringo

Franklin completes your forward line pending Higgins and Miller upgrade if needed.
Docherty gives you the 4th prem defender so I would probably go with that option. All depends on McNiece being named though.

Cheers Ringo. Good reasoning.

i agree with ringo.

bring in doc

enzedder

Had a deeper think about this and with Port GC bye looming I'm potentially setting myself up for failure in R9 if I bring in Doc this week instead of Buddy.
I have Witts, Miller and Eddy.
Witts could be traded but just as easily could stay and be covered by Nank, especially if another trade is forced on me elsewhere.
So by moving Nank and switching Miller to mids for the week my R9 fwd line would be: Dahl, Macrae, Higgins, Balic, Butler, Parsons (Strnadica, Eddy)...substitute Buddy in place of Butler and it is not as horrible.
Buddy will rise in cash. Hopefully Otten doesn't lose any cash but he will fall a considerable amount should he put in an absolute stinker. Thinking Docherty can wait a couple of weeks.

Peter

Agree - wait on Docherty, be mindful of byes

Traded Butler to Franklin and Hampton to Berry.
Team currently:
Def: Shaw, Laird, Roberton, Marchbank, Otten, McGrath (Berry, Newman)
Mids: Dangerfield, Pendlebury, Bontempelli, Fyfe, Hannebery, Treloar, D Martin, SPP (Balic, Fisher, Barrett)
Rucks: Sandilands, Witts (Strnadica)
Fwds: Dahlhaus, Macrae, Nankervis, Franklin, Higgins, Miller (Parsons, Eddy)

So many options. Still undecided.
a.Miller and Barrett to JPK and Myers... finishes mids... SPP at M9...loses mid/fwd DPP
b.Miller and Barrett to Adams and Myers...gives mid/def DPP possibility with McGrath and Berry but can't see how I'd field well in R13....loses mid/fwd DPP
c.Miller and Otten to Docherty and Myers...gets Dochers...loses mid/fwd DPP
d.Otten and Barrett to Rance and Myers...nice bye...gives 4th premo defender (Shaw, Roberton Laird Rance...plan would be to get Dochers and Adams after their byes to finish off).
e.Miller and SPP to Yeo and Myers... gets rid of two bye players this week, gets Yeo who is a great bye option as well and maintains my mid fwd link... of all the options this ticks the most boxes but does mean I lose SPP earlier than expected.

Presently like option e the most for the reasons above. It also finishes my fwds...well they were sort of finished already but Miller is shower. If I go this way my team would be:

Def: Shaw, Laird, Roberton, Marchbank, Otten, McGrath (Berry, Newman)
Mids: Dangerfield, Pendlebury, Bontempelli, Fyfe, Hannebery, Treloar, D Martin, Myers (Balic, Fisher, Barrett)
Rucks: Sandilands, Witts (Strnadica)
Fwds: Yeo, Dahlhaus, Macrae, Nankervis, Franklin, Higgins (Parsons, Eddy)

Eddy and Witts would be my only R9 bye players ...  Nank could cover Witts, need Parsons to play F6

Putting this here for my reference as much as anything.
Assuming I go ahead with Yeo and Myers trades this week...the bye rounds pre trades are ...
Green= Playing
Red=Bye
Black=Non Player
R11 Team
Laird, Shaw, Otten, McGrathRoberton Newman (Marchbank, Berry)
Danger, Pendles, Fyfe, DMart, Treloar, Myers, Barrett, Balic (Bont, Hanners, Fisher)
Witts, Sandi (Strnadica)
Yeo, Higgins, Nank, Parsons, Eddy Franklin (Dahlhaus, Macrae)
19 players but includes Eddy, Parsons and Balic.
R12 Team
Laird, Roberton, Shaw, Newman, Otten, McGrath (Marchbank, Berry)
Pendles, Bont, Fyfe, Hanners, Treloar, Myers, Barrett, Fisher  (Danger, DMart, Yeo)
Witts, Sandi (Strnadica)
Dahlhaus, Macrae, Franklin, Eddy, Balic Higgins (Nank, Parsons)
21 players including Eddy, Fisher and Balic. Otten & Marchbank can hopefully become def rookie(who will benched this week anyway hopefully) and Docherty who had the bye the previous week (still 21).
R13 Team
Roberton, Marchbank, Newman, Berry Laird, Shaw (Otten, McGrath)
Danger, Bont, Hanners, DMart, Dahlhaus, Barrett, Fisher Pendles, (Fyfe, Treloar, Myers)
Witts, Nank (Strnadica)
Macrae, Franklin, Higgins, Yeo, Parsons Eddy (Strnadica, Balic)
19 players including Eddy, Parsons and Fisher...If Otten is Docherty becomes 20, McGrath to Rance this round becomes 21...maybe 20 depending on rookie downgrade previous week as Marchbank is likely gone.
