Why trade Houston over Parfitt?

Parfitt to Parsons, and upgrade Beams if you don't want to hold him imo
I have Parfitt stuck in mids with only Macrae and Dahlhaus as DPP Options. Can bring them into mids if need be but does weaken forward line considerably.
But either way you're trading in Parsons, just means Dahl is playing as a mid instead of as a forward. Next week you could easily trade someone like Houston, bring Dahl forward again, and get a mid :p

Settled on Parfitt to Parsons moving Macrae to mids and Beams to Bontempelli

Just need to decide who to play as Mid 8 out of Swallow, SPP and Balic.

Do not have forward cover though.  Can bring Hampton/Williamson in if Newman does not make cut.

LordSneeze

Like the plan, I prefer to have cover where possible, but sometimes the best option is to take the risk with no cover.

No cover due to suspensions or short term injuries is completely fair, its when they are non playing or LTI that the issues start.

Not sure what I will do just yet, Will prefer to hold Eddy, but if Hardwick is out he needs to go to avoid a donut. If I do this then downgrading Beams might be a really smart move as it means a few less trades in the upgrade phase.

Ringo

Thanks LS have Nank and Eddy on foward bench so risk worth taking.

sammy123

hope you haven't been destroyed by this carnage ringo

Ringo

Late outs may hurt can cover a defence  and mid late out but not a forward.

Trades for Rd 7
Parfitt to Parsons  >:(

Rd 7 Team
Def: Rance. Laird, Howe, Marchbank,Williamson, Otten (Newman, Hampton)
Mids: Danger, Pendles, Kennedy, Selwood, Fyfe, Bontempelli, Swallow, Macrae (Barrett, Balic,Powell-Pepper)
Rucks: Martin, Sandilands (Strnadica)
Fwds: Dahlhaus, Franklin, Parsons, Houston, Hoskin-Elliott, Butler( Nankervis, Eddy)

The Good (Rookies who score above 60 good)
Laird, Marchbank, Bontempelli (c), Macrae, Swallow (mid pricer), Dahlhaus, Franklin,

The Average (Rookies 40 -60)
Rance, Williamson, Danger,  Martin, WHE, SPP, Barrett, Otten* Hampton* Butler* Houston* Balic* (* only because starting rookies but now disappointing)

The Bad
Howe, Pendles, JPK, Selwood, Fyfe,Sandi, Parsons

DNP
Strnadica
Nankervis
Eddy
Newman

What next:
Parsons probably worth another go if named.
Hampton, Otten, Butler and Houston all will probably lose cash.

Will wait for teams to confirm but thinking these trades:
Hampton to McNiece if named (Higher B/E than Otten)
Houston to Mutimer if named (Higher B/E than Butler)
Doing this for cash generation as only 6k.

Then next week Otten to a prem defender. depending on cash Butler to a forward.

Your bye structure is superb. Myers will be on the bubble the following week, not interested??

Butler to Myers via Macrae DPP

Thought that as well.

been thinking about Hampton to McNeice and Otten to Tuohy as well.  Will probably change my mind 100 times before Friday lockout.

Capper

Are you holding Swallow through his bye??

Ringo

Swallow is the enigma for me so may hold during byes if I have cover and depending on his B/E. Also read an article in todays paper where Eade says he is happy to rest swallow to help extending his career,
http://www.couriermail.com.au/sport/afl/teams/gold-coast/gold-coast-could-rest-david-swallow-for-up-to-a-quarter-of-the-2017-season/news-story/a952e47695ddf9b2ee5c4515a8e1279a

"GOLD Coast are prepared to rest David Swallow for up to a quarter of the season to prolong his career, reasoning he is incapable of self-preservation."

Capper

hmmm a lot of cash wasted on the bench

Ringo

Yep after reading that have to factor something in. Will probably keep till his B/e gets up there currently 44 which he should easily achieve.

Looking at a smokey fwd after Ports bye so hoping he stays down a little this week. Should have mid time especially with Gray carrying a groin injury and staying forward.

SilverLion

Can't fault those trades Ringo, whats the plan if Mutimer/McNiece don't get named though, go a week early on Myers? Berry?

Ringo

Will reassess when teams announced if that is the case.

Latest plan and this gets rid of both Adelaide players:
Week 8
Hampton to McNiece/Berry
Otten to Tuohy Rd 12 Bye

Week 9
SPP to Myers
and maybe Houston to another rookie

Week 10
Butler to Wingard

If Swallow is rested through any of these rounds and at his ceiling will trade to ? decide at the time with byes in mind.
