Love the team Ringo! What have you ended up going with coming into game one?

Ringo

Will post final team after final teams tomorrow:

Decisions I am Looking at
Taranto v GHS
Vickers-Willis/Otten v Joel Smith

Out of those I'd go WHS, better JS should average about the same. I'd go Smith in defense out of those three, cheaper, and the other two are both on the extended bench. If Otten is named in the final squad I'd be awfully tempted though.

Edit: If you do mean Horlin-Smith, think he's a better option than Taranto too :)

Good luck for 2017 Ringo!

Final team for Rd 1

Def: Rance. Laird, Howe, Marchbank, Hampton, Otten (Stewart, Joel Smith)
Mids: Danger, Pendles, Kennedy, Selwood, Fyfe, Beams, O'Meara, Powell-Pepper (Barrett, Hibberd, Parfitt)
Rucks: Martin, Sandilands (Strnadica)
Feds: Dahlhaus, Franklin, Roughead, Nankervis, Hoskin-Elliott, Pickett  >:( (Butler, Eddy)

Sticking with Rance unless he has another 2 bad games and i need to correct but banking him to finish top 10 again.

Taranto and Hoskin Elliott have been in and out of more team numerous times but have decided on WHE as I think he has the best JS, Looked at downgrading to Schoenmakers or Florent and just did not look right as both are probably fringe as well.

I like Hibberd in the midfield. It allows you to wait and see and make a correction on any line if you have to because you can swing Hibberd back if Smith fails and not have to search for a mid rookie because you also have the options with Pickett etc. down forward.

Good work with the Hoskin-Elliott pick so far, he looked good tonight. The pro and the con tonight was they used him at both ends. The pro is he has versatility keeping him in the side, the con is he saw less ball up forward.

Any particular reason you have gone Selwood over Rocky? It's one I have been debating but with less cash for Selwood I have taken Rocky.

Howe was excellent after QT tonight so you must be stoked with that pick as well.

Good team Ringo you should have a good year.

Ringo

Thanks guys

Matt Just a gut feeling on Rocky - Beams and Rocky have virtually only played 2 games together with both fully fit. Not a big sample, and my feeling is they may take points off each other being similar players. Will be watching though and if he looks like averaging around the 120 will target as upgrade.

Pleased with my punt on Howe so hope he can maintain it.

Rd 1 Update

Rd 1 Score 2227
Rd 1 Rank  11746
Overall Rank 11746

Rd 1 Team
Def: Rance. Laird, Howe, Marchbank, Hampton, Otten (Stewart, Joel Smith)
Mids: Danger, Pendles, Kennedy, Selwood, Fyfe, Beams, O'Meara, Powell-Pepper (Barrett, Hibberd, Parfitt)
Rucks: Martin, Sandilands (Strnadica)
Fwds: Dahlhaus, Franklin, Roughead, Nankervis, Hoskin-Elliott, Pickett  >:( (Butler, Eddy)

The Good
Laird, Howe, Marchbank, Danger, Pendles, JPK (Used as VC Loophole), Beams, SPP. Sandi, Franklin, Nankervis, Hoskin-Elliott, Butler
Strnadica with loophole option for majority year,

The Average
Hampton, Fyfe, Selwood, O'Meara, Steve Martin, Roughead, Stewart

The Bad
Dahlhaus, Rance and Rookies (my expectations min 50) Otten, J Smith, Barrett, Parfitt, Hibberd, Pickett, Eddy.  Coaches error playing Pickett on field over Butler

Awaiting outcome of Smith injury. If for a while may use as loophole as I do not think too many options and if Cameron plays Strnadica to Cameron for cash generation. Can not have more than 1 non player on pine.

Will make final decision later in week to see if can wait another week or need to move to get another 2 corrective trades Rd 2.

Also interesting when I checked for Rd 2 really only 3 players on my team will probably not achieve B/E Rance 177, Selwood 122 (although possible), and Dahlhaus 117 and also possible. All other players if picked should achieve break evens.
Josh Smith the exception who should be traded either this week or next. Macreadie, Newman, Long the possible replacements.  Also considering Smith as loophole given Melbourne play 12 Saturday night Sunday games and going Strnadica to Preuss for cash build.

Tbh i don't think it really matters what the BE is for your premos :p
Also, they still have another week to change that R3 BE ;)

Holding Smith and going Strnadica to Preuss is very risky imo, and i assume gets rid of your ability to switch Strnadica with Nank? If you can find 100k somewhere, I think McGrath is the best option after the obvious in Marchbank, Stewart, and Hampton. Otherwise waiting for Long is probably the way to go.

Happy with score this week with nearly all prems except Laird firing.

Still deciding whether to trade this week or look at Macreadie and Newman for another week and then trade Smith. Not sure what to do with Hibberd and may make decision later in week when teams announced as may have other issues,

_wato

I'd chuck JPK in the bad pile too.

I'd also wait a week on Smith. Maybe Hibberd to Houston via Pickett?

Thanks Wato - Just hope I can get on line again later in week. Using phone to hotspot as no internet at house we are staying in for the week.

YEP JPK in the bad but will bounce back this week.

Also thought of Hibberd to Houston or Pickett to Houston. But remember Eddy a late replacement so he may be gone as well so then Eddy to Houston.

Give us a bell if you need help.

I think Eddy will hold his spot against the Crows. Hibberd has to go, he's rubbish.

jeesh

Awesome rank this early in the season Ringo. Nice team and you've made 0 trades so far? You're in for a good year I reckon.
