A very early attempt at throwing a few ideas around the floor.

DEF   R Laird,   J Johannisen,   M Hurley,   J Carlisle,   A McGrath,   J Scrimshaw       //  G Logue,   L Ryan

MID   S Pendlebury,   M Barlow,   N Fyfe,   D Heppell,   D Beams,   B Fiorini,   D Clarke,   N Freeman,       // J Gallucci,   J Graham,   W Rioli

RUCK                T Goldstein,     M Gawn,                                         //    T Bellchambers

FOR   D Martin,   D Zorko,   S Menegola,   C Petracca,   T Boyd,   B Ainsworth,         //   S Bolton   H McKay

$560,000  Sal  to cushion price differences.
Will be very interesting to to see this coming seasons DPP's. Bit of a risk not starting Danger or Jelwood but at this early stage I can afford it. I like a few things about this early team, a bit embarrassing being first down though, what are your thoughts ??  Very early isn't it ??

:-[ :o ;)

It's the best team I've seen far  ;)
Love the rucks. Remind me not to be stupid if I end up posting something contrary to those two... they're locked at this early stage.
I started having a play on fanplanner myself but stopped when I saw Fiorini's price. Add 300k on it I think and it'd be about right.
Too early to have a crack at it. :)

Too true NZ, but just have so much time on my hands. And the challenge of it really broke the boredom. But as you said, " best yet ! "

4 days to go boys.     Goldy Gawn and Belly will be a popular ruck choice.    Will consider Ryder instead of Gawn if Belly is dirt cheap.

;)      Will be interesting to check out DPP ruck / for / def   as well as price. But almost impossible to go passed Goldy and Gawn.     :)

First go with Team Picker.

DEF   T Adams,   J Johannisen,   C Mills,   G Logue,   L Keefe,   C Hampton,                        //   T Stewart,   J Berry

MID   P Dangerfield,   S Pendlebury,   M Bontempelli,   N Fyfe,   T Mitchell,   D Beams,   A McGrath,   J Foote,
                                                                                                                                           //   D Myers,  B Ainswoth,  S Powell-Pepper

RCK   T Goldstein,   M Gawn,                                                                                               //   L Strnadica     r/f

FOR   L Dahlhaus,   J McRae,   T Boyd,   J Bowes,   J Simpkin,   J Galluci                              //   S Bolton,   B Eddy

$32,600 left and totally unconcerned about byes at this early stage. From the articles I've read and TV interviews given it appears that Foote, Mills and Heeney are the front runners at getting Titchells mid time so I have two in my team. Foote is a steal if he plays and neither Mills or Heeney have to improve much to be viable starters and both appear very capable of stepping up to the next level.  Tom Boyd played his heart out in the GF and if he has turned the corner could be a money making ruck back up forward. With a bit of price juggling when we know more about the rookies I hope to perhaps slot in Fiorini . Whichever way I look at the rucks it comes up set and forget and save a trade.  Cheers and best wishes to all.                    ;)

Don't mind this team at all! Mills and Boyd definitely risky, but both have a tonne of talent, so who knows how they could go in 2017 ;)

Hi crowls, sorry so long in replying, been away. I can't remember where exactly but 2 - 3 weeks ago Fiorini was being discussed by  guys on this website and the consensus was that he was vastly under priced in Fanplanner at about 280 odd hence the " steal I reckon". To me he's a big watch but not in my current teams.  Steering away from the break out syndrome after what it did to me this season although I may become very interested should either Mills or Heeney grab substantial mid time due to Mitchell's departure.
Well here is my latest and possibly my final team until we have something more to go on.

DEF   Addams T,   Laird R,   Johannisen J,   McGrath A,   Scharenberg M,   Hampton C,               //  G Logue,   L Ryan

MID   P Dangerfield,   S Pendlebury,   M Bontempelli,   N Fyfe,   T Mitchell,   D Beams,   S Powell-Pepper,   D Myers    //   J Bowes,
                                                                                                                                                          J Gallucci,   J Berry

RCK   T Goldstein,   M Gawn                                                                                                           //   L Strnadica

FOR   L Dahlhaus,   J Caddy,   H McCluggage,   B Ainsworth,   J Simpkin,   W Drew,                       //   S Bolton,   B Eddy

$103,800 Salary remaining.   It's a toss up between McCrae and Laird at this stage unless one of Heeney or C Mills get lots of mid time during the NAB. Rookies are obviously very changeable but have made sure to select several of the top price bracket for easy flexibility. I haven't commented on many teams as I have finished very poorly in the last two seasons. I came home like bloody Phar Lap this year and then only managed to finish  14642 so you see there are thousands more qualified than I to help with your team problems. If you have anything to say about my team please cut loose and if you'd like me to look at yours, at your own risk, I'll comment honestly. Cheers and all the best Sabretooth ( pete the oldfart. )       ;)

Decided to try a couple of changes and put it next to an older team to see what it looks like.

FOR   L Dahlhaus,   J Macrae,   J Caddy,   I Heeney,   H McCluggage,   J Gallucci,                     //   S Bolton,   B Eddy.

$11.800 left and I see it as 11 keepers with 2 possibles. Last season my team was so stuffed that I had to change all my starting def and ruck keepers as well as . . . . . !!  The coming season must be better.  Does anybody like either team ??  Cheers and all the best from the " oldfart "        ;)

Pretty solid side with some nice pods! I would be leaning towards starting Macrae personally as I feel like he has a much better chance of starring the season with a 120 avg than laird does.

But I guess it'll all come down to rookies.

Not much more you can do now until you wait for the pre season to unfold.

I'd take Macrae over Johannisen, JJ is an unknown quantity for me...! needs to lift disposal from that grand final performance.
I reckon there's a lot of optimism in these averages being thrown up MS  ;)

Love Titch, Currently trying to fit him in my midfield. Will play more around the ball this year and will be the no.1 midfielder at the Hawks, could be a fantasy pig. Hopefully we see a contested ball side of Titch which has been non-existent due to lack of need. Could see him average in the 30s for disposals and if that happens he should increase output to 110+!

I love reading your posts ST, mostly because I have no idea how you format things all over the place like you do :P

Nice team mate, few POD's too :)

Thanks RD. And you're right of course, I wouldn't know a format from a door mat, but I still have a heap of fun. Have tweaked the team a bit by strengthening the forward line and weakening defence. This should be the last change for a while, he says with foot in mouth.

PS   Really like the mids, ruck and forward line as is, if only I had another mil  salary to spend
