It's gonna be a T20 at this rate
I wonder how they'll play it. as in, T20 rules, 6 overs PP n that, or ODI rules and figure out how many PP overs there'll be or whatever. I'm guessing the latter cos it is an ODI after all, but I dunno

NZ commentator reckons the ground won't dry, doesn't think there'll be play

Did it actually rain after that designated start time?

It hasn't rained for about 10 years, ground just taking ages to dry.

haha yeah that's pretty much it. hasn't rained for ages but the ground is still soaked and he didn't sound confident on it getting dry any time soon

Quote"The Met says that Napier today has had 5.8mm of rain. That is 1/5th of an inch. An international ground should be able to cope with that. If not it should not be an international ground."

Surely there has been more rain than that!

yep. that's it. we can't win the series but we only need to draw it to keep the trophy. so let's hope the rain stays away on Sunday

if you think this is a waste of time just wait for the T20's against Sri Lanka for some reason :P

but cricket's cricket so imma watch it regardless :P

Seriously, Sheffield Shield is more important than this crap. At least those players that are going to India could get a red ball game in before leaving... Why those going to India and not in the ODI squad aren't playing I have no idea (Swepson, Renshaw, Agar etc)

Also, you'd think that a ground that is in a country where it rains should have awesome drainage.
