not sure if this sort of thread has been done before, but thought it'd be a bit of fun

all you gotta do is make an 11 of a certain type

ie lefties, righties, captains, Countries
can be whatever you want. anything and everything

I'll start with a Lefties XI

1) Matthew Hayden
2) Alastair Cook
3) Brian Lara
4) Kumar Sangakkara
5) Shiv Chanderpaul
6) Gary Sobers
7) Adam Gilchrist (wk)
8 ) Wasim Akram
9) Chaminda Vaas
10) Dan Vettori (c)
11) Alan Davidson

Stephen Fleming unlucky (prob woulda been captain too), and even though I don't like Cook, it's hard to ignore his record

so go nuts. it can be whatever XI you want

Aussie XI of players I've watched

1) Matthew Hayden
2) Justin Langer
3) Ricky Ponting
4) Michael Clarke
5) Steve Waugh (c)
6) Andrew Symonds
7) Adam Gilchrist (wk)
8 ) Shane Warne
9) Brett Lee
10) Mitchell Johnson
11) Glenn McGrath

maybe I could have Gillespie over Johnson but wanted a left armer in there

Hayden Langer Ponting pretty self explanatory. Clarkey cos he's my favourite player of all time. Steve Waugh as my captain and a rock at 5, Symonds at 6 as my all-rounder and one of the best fielders of all time, Gilly cos he's Gilly, same with Warne, Lee and Johnson putting fear in the batsmen, and McGrath pretty self explanatory

it's pretty much the old school team haha. for good reason though. Michael Hussey stiff to miss out on both teams but I have Symonds in the second team as my all-rounder, and there's no way Sobers doesn't make the first team for the same reason. I might be missing someone obvious but that'll do for now

Surely with those 4 bowlers + Steve Waugh and Pup you dont need an AR

yeah that's a fair call. he's such a good fielder as well though. and he'd be good to have a few drinks with after a big win ;D

but Huss is no slouch in the field, and is a better bat... and can bowl a bit if needed... I might have to make the switch

Team of Australian spinners that have played since Shane Warne retired (Note: there's 14 of them in total, only counting those that have played as a spinner. So Maxwell, North don't count)

1. Cameron White
2. Nathan Lyon
3. Steve Smith
4. Ashton Agar
5. Stephen O'Keefe
6. Nathan Hauritz
7. Michael Beer
8. Brad Hogg
9. Xavier Doherty

11. Stuart MacGill

Now, without cheating and looking it up, who knows the other three?
