You didn't finish 8th with the worst injury list. You won like 1 game with all those injuries. Essendon (who had more players out) won 2 matches in the 2nd half of the year :P

Higgins was out from round 7 onwards
Wells missed 8 and 9 in the first half of the year
Goldy was playing injured from round 10 onwards
Wright was injured round 7-9 then 12 onwards
Jacobs was injured round 8 onwards
Swallow was injured round 12 13 15
Wood was injured 17 onwards

then guys like Anderson, Hansen, Garner, Turner,

so thats a false statement. Round 9 there was Higgins, Wells, Wright, Jacobs, Turner, Garner, Hansen out of the squad and they took out a Carlton team that had just won 4 straight

they won about 4 games with all the injured guys out. So yeah pretty bad, but i dont discount Goldy playing injured thats huge.

i think GC easily had worse injury list then North

true but they are irrelevant when your talking teams that are pushing for finals.

Holz

Anyway we will see what happens in 2017

Sports bet has them finishing 12th on 9-10 wins which seems more right.

has GWS on top with 15 wins.

meow meow

GC got slaughtered.

Who did North have out? Higgins.  Waite + Wood for half a year. Depth like Hansen and Anderson. Anybody else of note?

Crameri
Murphy
Wallis, Macrae, Dahl and Libba missed a seasons worth of matches between them
Adams half the season
JJ 10 weeks
Clay the first half of the year

Best 22 players constantly missing = finish lower than otherwise would have

Most of the best 22 in = how we performed in finals

All things being equal on the injury front and we're a top 2 list.
Injuries happen though, so GWS will be weakened more than we will since our depth is better cover.

It was you that said "we were 10-2", and followed it up with "then the injuries started to come"

I don't get why you all have to get so defensive over your team's... It's offseason!!

I said injuries started to come into play, they started around 7-8 but they were compounding due to the loss of form it caused and also that the reserves were getting injured too. Footy is alot about form as we have seen by the dogs, fully fit we probably would have dropped the sydney game and then powered through the cats.

Shouldnt discount the loss of Jacobs as it was Danger single handed who took us out in that game, so put the in form tagger in the comp on him.

then captain swallow missing the middle of the year with goldy playing through injury and then hot form started to turn into poor then it all fell apart from there.

9 points loss to Sydney round 22
14 points loss to dogs round 20
11 point loss to Hawks round 13

2-10 is pretty bad but its totally makes sense when you look at it as losing to Hawks, Crows, Eagles, Port, Dogs, Hawks, Sydney, GWS.

we lost to 1 non finals team all year and that was port. who werent even that bad they had a percentage of 106%.

not sure how we are expected to fall off a cliff beating every single bottom 10 team bar port while having bad injuries.

quinny88

North have made it pretty clear that they are going through a rebuild. Getting rid of Boomer, Wells, Petrie, NDS and Firrito  who were all best 22. Don't think they will finish last but bottom 6 looks pretty likely

The_Captain

Worst injury list in the comp. HAHAHAH CMON. There were at least 5 clubs worse off than you guys. There is no point peaking in April and May.... The like of Adelaide and Bulldogs were cruising at about 70% of capabilities whilst North thought the flag was awarded end of May....

Anyway- They will be caught out this year. They won't make the 8 and their supporters can get the reality check.

Yeah, just saw North's draw for next year

I reckon you'll be 3-8 or 4-7 at the byes and then Saints, Dogs after the bye so possibly
3-10 at RD 14 with Hawks, Saints, Freo, Dees, Port, Pies games you could lose after that so could be a tough year

Also think Dogs have the best list and are deserving of premiership favs, they're better than the Giants

Forwards nope, but their defence and mids bat much deeper and stronger and rucks are similiar (yes even with Mummy)

Holz

Calling it now, dogs dont make Grandfinal.

wouldn't sleep on Sydney despite losing Mitchell.

The_Captain

I think Dogs, Giants and Sydney are the top 3 pending any major injury woes. After that... Its pretty open. Maybe Adelaide for 4th? Havent look at draws in too much depth. Melbourne to sneak in 8. Danger to carry Geelong again to around 7/8. Unless they have easy draw then higher. Hawks and west coast... Not sure maybe 5th/6th...

Saints to lead the pack for non finalists.
then-
Essendon
Collingwood
Fremantle
Port Adelaide
North Melbourne
Calrton
Richmond
Gold Coast
Brisbane

Reckon the Giants make the grand final do you? Couple of injuries and they are shot
I know it's not massive but they haven't played many away from home in Melbourne. Gonna bite them come finals time again imo

Dogs have the style of play that no matter who they have missing they'll put up a huge huge fight. Doubt they lose as many personnel as they did this year. So they're already a better team on the gf winning one.
Can't see why they shouldn't make it again. Bob, Crameri, Cloke answers their key forward woes, another avenue to goal and gives them further leadership and another running back. Watch for JJ with a full year too.

cant decide if the AFL would want a Sydney vs GWS GF

guess would help the game in Sydney heaps
