Forums a bit dead, so thought I'd start some discussion on next season.

So some points for discussion

- Players coming back from injury
- Position changes
- Essendon Players
- Locks
- Breakouts
- My team name

Hard to tell what AF will do because they're 'confusing AF'  :P, But I'll throw some names out.

GAJ, JOM, Fyfe, Beams, Bennell and Elliot all coming back from injury, some of them could have pretty juicy prices. Also Jon Giles with Lycett and Nic Nat out injured next season.

Need some help with my team name to, so feel free to make a suggestion.

The_Captain

Yep will definitely be looking at those players. Lycett should be ready for round 1 they are saying. But if giles starts with him round 1, could be an option. But eagles have no choice but to go after a 4th ruckman so giles may not be a chance...

Willl danger be too expensive to start next year?

Guns, rooks, breakout guys and underpricers, going back to old school, forget the mid pricers.  The breakout players will be key.

Will Bombers players be discounted?

Can't pay that much for Danger, every time I've paid max dollars for round 1 they have dropped drastically in price.

The_Captain

Yeah cant justify paying that for danger because he can only maintain or drop from there i believe. and fantasy is all about value and $$ making with the 44 trades. Who do you reckon is set for a breakout next year? Viney to take it to the next level?

Throughout the year you think about these guys who may have breakouts next year and then by this time of the year you forget, lol.  I think I will even possibly avoid breakouts and just go guns and rooks, but off the top of my head I think ppl were on Brad Crouch a year too early this year and if he gets a full pre season he might get to that level, Stringer if he plays more midfield, Sheed might be underpriced, not convinced he can breakout to be classed as a fantasy gun though, Heeney if he can crack the mids, I think Vineys already kinda broken out in the sense that he won't make you any money, Clay Smith might get to another level now that his body is right, Seb Ross might become solidly consistent, Dumont and Acres showed signs.  They're the more obvious ones I think, would have to do a bit more research next year and watch some NAB!  ;)

yeah last year i went matt crouch in my mids and hoped for a breakout. He did breakout slightly.. But was hoping more for a 95 avererage than 85.. So really not a great pick by me in the end. He did get a fair bit of it agaonst sydney but which pissed me off!

Some guys I will be looking at apart from the obvious Fyfe, Beams, etc.

Matt Crouch - Priced at 93, averaged 111.67 in the last 6 weeks. Issue has always been tank so another pre-season and he could prove a huge pick.

Dom Tyson - Also priced at 93, had a breakout end to the year bar that Geelong thrashing, with 5 110+ scores in a row. Will watch with huge interest in the pre-season.

Brad Ebert - Priced at 84. If Port bounce back and he reverts to his old role with Ryder back in the team (both purely speculative) could be 15~ points underpriced. Last 4 year averages of  102, 99, 99 & 99 (rounding)

Jarryd Lyons - If on the move to the Gold Coast, as has been reported, will be one of my first picked forwards in 2017. Would think he would play a pure clearance role and increase his 2016 average of 89.

Touk Miller - Similar situation to Lyons in that he should play a pure midfield role in 2017. Averaged 104.2 in the last 8 weeks. Priced at 82.

Isaac Heeney - Will be everyones favourite 3rd year breakout candidate based on his semi-final performance as well as glimpses throughout the season.

Brendon Ah Chee - As a Port supporter, I urge everyone to, if he gets a new contract (which he should) to watch Arch through the pre-season. Has come a long way from the draft but still needs to bulk up slightly. Played the majority of the year on the forward flank and only turned out a 65 average. However the catch is that, unsubbed in his first season, playing completely inside midfield, he averaged 91. As I said, watch during the pre-season to see what kind of role Hinkley has for him, but if its back in the midfield, and he has forward status, it will be very tempting.

Trent Dumont - Didn't finish the year off very well, however the signs were there throughout the season, one to watch for a third year breakout.

Kade Kolodjashnij - Scored extremely well when not forced to play tall defender, which he was regularly due to GC's injury troubles. Is 10~ points underpriced one would think.

Nick Graham - Could be an interesting breakout candidate.

Will look at Jack Grimes depending on the club he goes to.

Some of the guys dominating the VFL (Honeychurch, Neal-Bullen, etc.) will also need to be looked at if they can break best 22.

Daniel Rich to finally breakout with a new coach? Breakout candidate 5 years running :P

Are people really going to fall into this trap for the fourth year in a row? ::) ::) ::)

Not so much a bolter now as it is all over quite a few platforms.
