any idea the last time 2 teams met twice in a final series and  the 2nd game was a GF?

Correct. And 2005,2006 were another two times. All three times the team that came through the Semi final won the Granny. There was a 4th time before 2005 (I think a Brisbane one?) where that team that lost week 1 also won the flag.

So basically teams that done what Sydney have done are 4/4 in Grand Finals.
