lol, I assume you're taking the piss there :P

I'd be surprised to see us give up anything of value, we haven't even stated we want him. He's 30 next year, has had several concussions/facial injuries over the past 24 months and his form hardly warrants this risk.

Is he contracted? Could he not just walk via the draft?

A bag of half finished chips is all I'd give up.  Brown would be the only chance out of that lot, hope the Eagles don't give up anything of value when they don't need to.  Do we have to give you guys anything?  Isn't he out of contract now?

valkorum

Balla's is contracted til the end of 2017

haha, keep him.

Options:
1) take chips for him
2) lose him for nothing end of next season

Fact is he's got little to no value and he's not the missing piece to our premiership puzzle.

Plus we've already stated that after trading picks for Jetta and Redden last year we're keen to head to the draft with some.

valkorum

I wouldnt be trading Balla's for a bag of chips.  I would want something decent in return, but he probably isnt worth it considering he is 30.

That being said, he is better than LeCras (currently) and Josh Hill, so you would definitely be getting an upgrade.

RaisyDaisy

I'd take Lecca and Hill over Balla every day of the week

Hill kicks enough goals, his forward pressure is great and he has the ability to drift down back when we need him

He's always the scapegoat and easy target in our side, but I rate him, probably more than most WCE people too

Balla still has something to offer, but I just don't see him really bringing any value to WCE

All three have underperformed this season, but in what world is Ballantyne definitely an upgrade on LeCras and Hill?

Hill has X-Factor, incredibly frustrating but can provide a huge spark (and is 2 yrs younger than Ballantyne).

LeCras has been a performer for us for so long (especially when we were crap). Does kick more goals than either of the aforementioned and will be back next season after a down year the pressure will be on.

I'd honestly only take Ballantyne for free. We don't need him, nor is he key in our next premiership tilt.

We wouldn't even be having this conversation if Lecca and Hill had had better years.

^This

Ballas is worthless to us, only leaves Cripps who has had a great year!  LeCras > Cripps > Hill > Swift > Ballas.  :P  I'm literally praying that we don't take him.

elephants

If we are going to target a small-medium forward, I'd much rather see us punt on Liam Ryan from Subiaco. Kicked 39 goals in 15 games this year at only 19 he could be a steal in the rookie draft. Has so much upside and from all reports he's a really good kid too.

Darling!!!!! no way.The electricity bill would be too high.Needs the lights left on.

When has Hill EVER, and I mean EVER provided a huge spark!!!!!!
Neither Hill or Lecra provide the pressure that Ballantyne offers every week. Not just once in a while when the going is easy.
As has been sadi your mob get Ballas it will be an improvement for you.
We will take McKenzie for Ballas.
As an addition here... some one said Cripps has had a great year.... you mean the Cripps from Carlton!!!!!!!!
An overestimation of some players me thinks.

elephants

Bloody hell.

If you think Ballantyne is worth ANYTHING let alone our former captain then that is over-estimation of the century....

We dont have to budge here, if Freo want to keep a disgruntled player you can.

Mackenzie? You're absolutely dreaming.

anchorman

Well he ain't gonna stay at the Eagles.
Ballantyne would buy sell and wrap up guys like Hill, Cripps and Lecras.
Overestimatining his ability.... I think not.. but the three Eagles mentioned are vastly over rated.

elephants

Says who? He can be best 22 next season if he learns the structures and playing style over the offseason. Was always going to be hard given a lot had changed since E-Mack went down initially.

Anyway if EMack does decide he wants a fresh start, he's got way more value than Ballantyne on the open market.

You're obviously showing your Freo-bias mate. 80% of Freo fams wouldnt even agree with you here. Ballantyme has shown nothing for two seasons.
