British xv Confirmed Trades and Rulings 2016/17

So this is what trading looks like here  8)

Have gone to the trade table with the Steins in our 1st deal.

Hedgies give: Connor Blakely + Sam Menegola.
Steins give: Keiran Jack + Rhys Stanley

With NicNat out we are looking for a replacement cover. Jack a strong performer to help with the initial offset of the averages o Menegola's 170 and Blakely's 155.. A fairly big trade in firepower and age but one that works in helping Hedgies offset NicNat and the loss of significant young potential.

Steins rebuilding & going with youth. having the line of Melb rucks offsets the loss of Stanley. Menegola & Blakely youth offsets K Jack.

Wrexham Knights give: Rook pick 34

With Nic Nat out for the season,Lycett and Giles should be fine for next season and I have Smith waiting in the wings as well Knights really need a ruck backup with Blicavs likely to be mid only next season so helping them out with one.

Winchester Werewolves give: Tom Phillips
Grope Lane Giants give: Matthew Leuenberger

Bit sad to see Phillips go as I had him earmarked in last year's draft and picked him up with the last live pick (Pick 66) 8) He also showed a bit in his few games this year. We badly need ruck depth though and although Leuey's not the best, beggars can't be choosers.

Confirmed. Leuey has been passed by Hickey in our team now as the #1 ruck. We have Naismith and Longer as back up so should be fine moving forward. Phillips showed enough in 2016 for us to invest in his youth and potential.

Letting go of a top defender will hurt, but should have the depth to cover him. GAJ has a recent injury history, but his scoring potential is too difficult to ignore.

Swap of 2 stars in their respective positions of the same age. This one could come back to bite me but we can cover Ablett in the middle to a degree and our defense let us down this year. The thing that has cost us most the last 3 years is players missing through injury at the end of the season and hopefully Simmo's durability continues.

Breakers wanted to end with Brisbane Ruck set and Hoods with West Coast Ruck Set. Hedgehogs wanted some reasonable scoring mids (Although Rich has D/M which I expect him to keep) so trade satisfies all parties.
Hoods are aware that Nat will miss next season and Breakers aware that Wallis will miss a huge chunk next year as well.
