My guess: Hellopplz is inducted as a Super-Legend.

It is special and something that we feel will be warmly and thoroughly accepted by 100% of the FanFooty Community.

That makes me feel even more confident with my prediction :D.

There was no drama at all. I literally just said my opinion that we shouldn't run this as a game and someone went through and deleted my posts and then closed my thread, with no explanation or PM or anything. I don't understand why we aren't allowed to have a reasonable discussion or conversation. Nothing bad was said at all.

If someone took offence to my comment that "people don't know what is going on in the entire forum and won't be able to make educated choices - then it'll turn out to be a popularity contest", then I find that strange.

I think the thing here is that the people voting for who makes it in are the currents mods and HOF members and they're all well respected enough to vote for who they think actually deserves to be inducted rather than who they do or don't like.

Sure - but that isn't what this thread it about, its voting for all the other "less" respected members. In which case it's a popularity contest and I think it is a bad idea.

Most interestingly, if whoever deleted the previous messages would be so kind to PM me about the reasons why they were deleted, I would be very intrigued. I think it is very fair to say that the HoF committee is not aware of how I personally run UTG just because they are not part of it, which is completely understandble. If that was the comment that was deemed as drama, then I would certainly like some sort of explanation

That is the idea - yes. But in reality, that is not how it is being played. The people that are casting their votes are doing it through their eyes of the forum and not through the people who are on the HoF committee, which becomes unintentionally nasty due to it becoming a popularity contest. Can I use this opportunity to assure everyone that from when the Hall of Fame was first mentioned and I was asked to be involved in it's inception the biggest concern for those involved and for me was to set it up so as everyone to a man/woman could feel secure in the fact that it would never be a popularity contest. The people involved in the voting and the numbers involved in the voting have ensured that the process is fair and just because of the quality of the people involved I believe this to be as true today as it ever was.

Everyone inducted is extremely worthy of being in it including those to be inducted this year. It takes a few years of service to the site, constant input and help with many factors that make up FanFooty and for me makes it the best Fantasy Site that there is bar none.

I'm sure this has turned into something you never intended it to become mate , I just wanted to reassure you and put any concerns you or others may have to rest, hand on heart I and others would have nothing to do with it if it were a popularity contest, it is and hopefully always be a reward to those that have done so much for the site for different reasons and any suggestion of anything else is disrespectful to them and their commitment to what they've done/do and achieved and disrespectful to those that take the time to sort through and vote for the nominees each year and for that reason alone I felt compelled to post my thoughts and defend the people and the process.

I hope through speaking up and by giving my word to you and others these concerns can be put to rest once and for all regarding the Hall of Fame if anyone has those concerns. My primary concern for posting is the legitimacy of the HoF and wanting to alleviate the fears people have about this thread ensuring they don't spill over into the actual Hall of Fame awards.

How people feel about this little bit of fun here I can do little about and to be honest all this is just a bit of fun and no ill will should be felt by anyone because it's just fun. However people vote here without being disrespectful means little in the grand scheme of things, how those that vote for the actual Inductees is the important factor to keep in mind.

If people are voting based on popularity in this thread then fair enough they are entitled to cast votes as they choose to and if people take offence to that then my best advice would be to ignore it simply because what importance or value does it hold, none it is just a bit of or was meant to be harmless fun to create interest around this years HoF. Anyone offended really should not be based on that and probably need to stay out of this thread or harden up a little bit in all honesty.

So lets put the fun back into this thread by nominating who you think will be the inductees as per the OP. Some of us are refraining from this due to our involvement with voting.

Grazz, you're the best and kindest person on the forum. Never did I have any doubts or concerns about the HoF voting. This is obviously very unclear because I have been told 4 times now that this thread isn't the real HoF voting and I understand that.

Here is an excerpt from a PM I sent, trying to explain my point in a slightly different way, because again, it appears unclear for everyone.

"Basically dude it's pretty simple. Some people are all excited about being nominated and they go to that thread and see that no one has given them a vote, it's pretty upsetting for them. I was just trying to stop that from happening. It'll happen in the end with the HoF but this was just unnecessary because it allowed for extra people to essentially "cast their votes" and someone who didn't get any may get offended. That's all I was saying and was repetitively shot down and I don't understand why. If someone gets upset by that, I would totally understand and wouldn't think they're stupid because you can't help how you feel however others thought they'd be stupid to be upset over fake votes. FF means a lot to some people so you never know but some people take it personally. We aren't all friends and yeah it could hurt someone so I thought it would be best to avoid the whole situation."

Grazz, you're a kind man. But you can't tell people how to feel. Rightly or wrongly, this thread may upset people. I think everyone should just have a little bit empathy here and realised that everyone is entitled to their feelings and no one can tell them that they shouldn't feel a certain one. As I have previously stated, FF means A LOT to some people, so any feelings are rightly or wrongly justified and it is not up to us to say whether or not those feelings are legitimate.

This thread was created for the right reasons, but it has the potential to unintentionally upset people. I was trying to avoid that by suggesting it being closed. That is all that has occurred here.

So..I vote on anything as I see it. Not on whether it upsets anyone. That's why you vote.
If I am not voted for ...then I am not voted for and that's everyone's right.

I agree mate, nobody has the right to tell people how to or not feel about anything, poor choice of words by myself I except that.
I just hope nobody holds any malice towards another over anything that transpired here. I know I don't.
I'd really like to see us all move on and hopefully enjoy some fun and the actual awards. ;)
