What I like about this years picks is the structure looks like a real team, no bullshower placement of pure mids on the flanks etc.

Greene wouldn't even be in GWS' Top 3 for the year, but makes it here. I'm sure Dusty in his spot would be fine, and then bringing in another player on the bench

I didn't say I agreed with the actual players picked just where the picked players were positioned

I feel if they put Dusty in the forward line it would be like previous years were they couldn't make the tough call on which mid to leave out so they just stick them in the forwards.

... Neale is unlucky. And that's not a criticism of Boyd and Greene.

How the flower can you include Boyd and Neale in the same sentence when talking about deserving AA picks?

Something like "Docherty/Simpson can't make the team but Boyd/Rampe can" makes sense, not the above crap

I would agree except Boyd is named on the bench. With 3 other mids. So Neale over Boyd would be my pick
If Boyd was named at Halfback,  or if other fwds/ruck/def was named on the bench then I'd agree

And RD, Greene has played fwd all year so its not too bad. Can't think of too many other half fwds that I'd pick over him

Greene also #5 for assists. Gun. Best half forward in the game this year.

Neale is a handball machine that racks up stats but doesn't damage. Shuey is more stiff than him. Steven more stiff. Cotchin more stiff. Coniglio had a better year. I'm sure there's more.

Boyd has held together one of the best defensive units despite them all being injured around him and his attack by foot cannot be undersold. He's had more influence over the result of matches than handball happy Neale.

Possessions are overrated. A mid who gets 40 vs his opponent who gets 35 hasn't had much of an influence on the result despite the numbers looking good. Merrett, Treloar and Neale are prime examples and didn't deserve to be in. Rance could be considered to be the best player in the league if you look at it like you should.

Agree with all that and Rance should be if not the highest paid player in the comp.
