Anchorman definitely hits the nail on the head that the WA media (or at least Channel 7 and affiliates like the West Australian) are heavily WCE biased, and it's pretty disgusting at times. Don't think they'd go all the way to completely make up a negative story about Freo in order to cover-up negative stuff about the iggles though.

West Coast are more well backed than Freo. Thats just the fact of being the first club established in the state. Thats why there is more focus on the Weagles than the Dockers in WA media (rightly or wrongly). This really does lead onto a whole new kettle of fish - news outlets (in particular commercial TV) and the media in general are simply chasing viewers/readers. Presenting fair, balanced, truthful stories don't bring this. People will watch what they want to watch. More Eagles fans than Freo fans = more Eagles coverage than Freo coverage. Fact of life.

Don't think they'd go all the way to completely make up a negative story about Freo in order to cover-up negative stuff about the iggles though.

At his best Ballantyne is an asset. But he's absolutely shower now. Don't want a bar of him unless he suddenly shows a lot in the final two matches of the season.

Ah....Ross said that Ballas approached him asking for a 3 year commitment and Ross said that's not his area to decide.  Ross also then said that Ballas manager had approached the club with him wanting out if he couldn't be guaranteed a 3 year contract.  That was the true story according to Ross, basically the same thing in a round about way.  Ridiculous comment.

Thats a fair call, but thats the general media as a whole, we know we can't just accept what the media says as gospel.

I am not sure about us but I know GWS are definitely interested in him.

At the right club he would be a great asset. Freo in the rebuilding phrase they are in are not the right club for Ballantyne.

I'd be surprised if anyone gave him 3 years though, year to year he's worth the punt, but 3 years for a 29 year old is not a smart club decision.
