Ceebs reading through half the stuff here, but Oss, do draft picks owned already count towards our cap? And are all draft picks worth 100k?

No, not already counted

All draft picks will be 100k unless they've played afl games before
So is the final Cap counted before or after the draft?  So if for example we plan on taking 4 picks, do we need to be $400k below Cap?

Yes, final cap is after the draft, so you would need to be 400k below

Yes, you'd need to be 400k below. I've tried to make the spreadsheet easy to keep track of it

Was wondering the same - Minimum cap is 9.2m  so to take advantage of picks need to delist so is that taken into consideration eg if a delist 4 players my cap will be 8.84 so is that allowable. Rules state during trading can not fall below 9.2m so was wondering whether that is considered coming into cap.

Hellopplz

Still need to wrap my head around the pricing system but looks pretty good Oss! Thanks for doing that as seems like it would have been a handful!

Also loved your work during the year Purps, finely run season 8).

Yeah if you have 5 draft picks, surely you're allowed to be 500k under the min cap?

You've got no obligation to be above the minimum cap.

But if you are below the cap you can't trade players (that reduce your cap) - only picks and or players that increase your cap

So, if you're 100k above the cap, with 5 draft picks, you could (for example) delist someone that puts you 300k under?

Not sure I understand the question. Are you talking minimum or maximum?

Yes, you can delist players to go under either the max or min cap.

If you need to have 5 picks to get to 45 players, you'll need at least 500k to spend. Remember you have to have 45 players

Yeah, above the minimum cap, sorry haha

So to clarify I was looking at a trade that took me 100k under the cap so that is not allowed.

However if I delist 5 players to enable me to get picks and it takes me 400k below cap that is permitted,

So in summary can not trade below cap but can delist below cap.  Does not seem fair think it should be you must be above minimum cap at conclusion of 2nd trade period.

Yeah, but if you were allowed to trade below the cap, delistings would just take you further down. This way, it'll get teams on a level playing field before they go ahead and delist.

My advice is to just wait until another natural trade gives you a few more $, then do that trade.

Can we lower the cap to 10.9 million (if we're having 5 rookies, 11mil if we've got 4) and not include the price of rookies under the cap?

An interesting idea for sure, but I'd prefer it if we left the rules alone for another 12 months given that the trade period has begun.

But definitely something we can consider this time in 11.5 months.

Okay so how many players will we have on the senior and rookie lists so I can manage my cap to the correct amount?

40 seniors and 5 rookies.

If there are any left over rookies... they might just go to whomever has the cap space.
