I think it's comical how so many coaches wanted the Admin/s to take more control and into their own hands, they attempt to do that and then those same coaches start whinging when they don't like the results!

And I think it's comical that you think a hung vote is the same thing as what we said in regards to admin taking control. The two have nothing to do with each other

Ha, let's not get started on comical this could go too many dangerous places.

From memory and do not quote me as I do not keep all votes from Worlds but we gave the administrator an additional vote which is now being exercised in this instance. Whether that decision is right or wrong it is in play with these votes so we have to abide by the decision and rules changed.

I definitely don't want to make a big deal out of this, because it's not one, but admin making the tough calls etc is great, but I don't think it should apply to rule changes

We've got 50% of teams not wanting the change, so I just think it shouldn't pass because it's nowhere near the majority

Anyway, I'll leave it at that

New prices are calculated, and I'll release them very soon, but to answer Holz specific questions:

Quote from: Holz on August 28, 2016, 05:51:05 PM

now if im not incorrect (could be we only saw the top 20 players) someone like sam menegola or rupert wills who struggle to get games is now worth more then someone who is a lock 22 and puts up 75 each week. kinda seems crazy.

You are very wrong on that Holz.

Sam Menegola = $175,000

Rupert Wills = $107,000

A player that 'averages 75 consistently', here are some examples of players who average between 70 and 80, and have played 50 games over the last 3 years (38 players under that criteria)

So, there you go.

Quotealso how is the average worked is it 2 games average 90 3 games avergaing 80 and 22 games averaging 50 to get ab average of 55 or 70?

It is the average of score of games over the last 3 years. So '55'. So that addresses another concern I believe.

Quotehow is aaron black priced? he cant get a game anymore but played 22 games in 2014.

Aaron Black = $162,000

So that's cheap.

QuoteThe big one is archie smith.

if im not correct is he now a 96 averaging player? so worth more then say Petracca Mills Weitering

Ar Smith: $100,000

C Petracca: $204,000

C Mills: $221,000

J Weitering: $194,000

So I believe everyone one of your concerns are already factored in Holz.

A little quirk or 2...

These three players actually increased in value, despite not being on AFL list in 2016 (because the 3 year average increase offset the year not playing)

Name2016 Team16-15
M ThomasNo Team$25,000
B MartinNo Team$6,000
A CarrazzoNo Team$1,000

And these 3 players increased in price, despite not playing a game (for the same reason)

J SaundersMexico City Suns$4,000
C ShentonNew York Revolution$2,000

Hi Holz, a lot of your queries were addressed in the original post here. But we'll go through these.

Quote1. it does answer most of my questions but can you do a break down on how archie smith, matt kennedy and menegola are calcualted so that i understand the process as my calcuations came of different. i am interested how alot of players somehow got 100k.

Archie Smith played 3 games, Average of 79.33

Average 79.33 multiplied by 2000 (arbitrary magic number) = $158,667

Add 'Premium factor' (percentage of games that Archie has scored 100). Which is 0%. So you multiply by 1 = $158,667

Add 'Durability factor' (percentage of games played over 66 H&A games). Which is 3/66 = 0.04545..... So you multiply by 1.045455 = $165,879

Add Scaling for playing less than 10 games. Which is 3 games. So 3/10*165,879 = $49,763

But we have a $100,000 minimum salary, so is rounded up to $100,000

And I can't be bothered with the others right now!

Quote2.  you answered my small queries but not my biggest in the fact that Bontempelli a 108 average 20 year old beast is worth more then Mundy a  31 year old 93 average player on the decline.

Because the cap encourages youth. Which mostly matches the real world (Mundy, right now, would likely be paid more than Bontempelli). Additionally, Mundy averages more than Bontempelli over the last 3 years. Likely Bontempelli will shoot up in price next year.

Quote3. where did this 100k minimum come from, i wasnt aware of this when i voted i might have missed it? does it count for picks or are they priced at 0?

You missed it. See link below.

Minimum prices are $100,000. So draft picks would be $100,000 (assuming they haven't played matches).

I should actually make that clear though in the salary cap stuff though!

ossie85

Low scores pull down the average?

... yes they do Holz. Averages are made up of high and low.

And teams need to rebuild and have the ability to trade. Why the min cap is admittedly generously low.

Holz

ok so its happend.

will be something interesting to adapt to, just got to get my head around the changes.

thanks for all the clarification Oz, was pretty confused but think i get everything now.

appreciate all the effort that went into the cap and the answering of questions.

Ringo

Well done Holz - London's only issue will be staying above minimum cap.

GoLions

Ceebs reading through half the stuff here, but Oss, do draft picks owned already count towards our cap? And are all draft picks worth 100k?

No, not already counted

All draft picks will be 100k unless they've played afl games before

So is the final Cap counted before or after the draft?  So if for example we plan on taking 4 picks, do we need to be $400k below Cap?
