Don't contracts and salary cap go hand in hand?

If all this comes in wouldn't we have to do it before trade period so we know exactly how much a player is worth?

I reckon contracts and stuff and poaching is probably a 2017 discussion IMO

Yes, but they want to switch from points cap to salary cap this year

No poaching and contracts etc, just point value to dollar value

JBs-Hawks

All for salary over points

Will never vote for poaching and contracts

Nige

I have a point of discussion.

Weather conditions should be put up for vote. As long as there is an even amount of wet vs dry, hot vs cold it would be good. What the penalty/bonus for hot/cold/wet/dry should be discussed.

And on the salary multiplication factors, I'd personally prefer the scores to come from the H&A season games (so 17 per year), and not 22, as because that's beyond scope of our competition. But I'm a fan of the salary cap personally.

Yeah, I ummed and arred about that for a while. Ultimately went with 22 games... because it just seemed to be extra information we weren't factoring in. Someone could theoretically have played 15 games, averaged 100, and he'd be worth $100k in Worlds. Particularly for the players that have debuted late in the season, cutting off the last few games could have a significant impact on their price.

Gotta include the 22 games. Extra data on which players who are available for finals each year is a must if you're working out their true value. Otherwise an injury prone like Naitanui might play the first 17 rounds then miss the WXV finals each and every year, but be valued the same as Goldy who keeps going strong well into the finals year after year.

Bad examples Goldy should be half price as he doesnt play round 23

We're just looking at replacing the points cap with a salary cap as means to improve the accuracy each cap total gives the teams at this stage.

Nige

Might as well start a new comp for all those interested in complicating the flower out of our beautiful competition.

Come on Nige, it won't be that bad. It'll basically be the same as we have now with the cap. Just $$$ instead of points.

Out of all the rules being discussed, I find this by far the most ridiculous

I mean geez, why can't we just play Fantasy Football based off SC scoring?

While we're at it, lets bring in a rule for socks. Players who wear their socks up vs players who wear their socks down, and figure out how much more points we can continue to shave of normal SC scoring

Let's throw in another rule for metres gained too and come up with a multiplier

I'd also like to see a new rule added for TOG too. Let's penalise players for having less TOG over others, and vice versa you get more points for spending more time on ground

Guys these aren't being enforced, they'll be voted on. Who knows, for every 5 (that may seem) ridiculous ones, there might be 1 ripper one that everyone loves and makes total sense
