Crooke Park makes PNL Crook

Wow! Now this was a game that lived up to the finals standard! It was a high quality match from start to finish and it looked like Dublin would prove to be too good entering Sunday. But enter veteran gun Corey Enright! He tried his guts; as did pretty much the whole PNL team, but they couldn't overcome the Crooke Park crowd for a second time. Dublin has finals superstar Rory Sloane to thank for the win, as well as the match deciding HGA; but that's what you get when you finish on top.

Jaguars slump to Cloudy Suns

In comparison to the above game, this definitely wasn't finals standard... from either team. Two of the three lowest scores came from this game, and Mexico City would be thrilled to have gotten through. Only Jaguar Patrick Cripps showed any desire from Rio; whom perhaps have been distracted from hosting the Olympics? The Suns would be sweating on Brendon Goddard and would be concerned about the performances of some of its regulars... Regardless, both teams will have to do a lot better if they are to win the premiership.

Rio de Janeiro Jaguars (18.9.117) lost to Mexico City Suns (21.7.133)

Best
Rio de Janeiro: Patrick Cripps
Mexico City: Kade Simpson, Tom Rockliff, Trent Cotchin, Daniel Wells

New Delhi Drink from Hollowed Armadillo Shells

First finals win! WHOO! Well done New Delhi for keeping this dream run of 6 consecutive wins; each effectively a final! Although no Tiger went above and beyond, it was a solid team performance and that was enough to account for the disappointing Armadillos, whom looked out of the running as soon as Pendlebury fell victim to the New Delhi Friday Night curse. Zach Tuohu was great for the Dillos, but that's about it really. Still, they'd be quietly satisfied at what they've achieved this year I think, with plenty to work with in the upcoming trade period. Goodbye Buenos Aires!

Revolution Wave Flags of Victory

This was a cracking game to follow throughout the weekend; so many times you'd change your mind who'd you think would win, until it was painfully clear. The Revolution stormed back into form with their third highest score of the year (and highest since Round 8!); with their last 4 players accounting for a 300 point deficit and 2 Islanders. The Islanders would be disappointed that they've been knocked out in an elimination final in consecutive years, but would have to concede that the Revolution (particularly their first 13 players) played out of their skin to earn the result. Seven players went 120+ in this game, but none higher than young star Isaac Heeney for New York. The Islanders will however welcome back Michael Hurley next year, and still boast a list to the envy of most sides to the comp. So we now say goodbye to the Islanders!

New York Revolution (24.10.154) def Pacific Islanders (22.8.140)

It was god damn close, but Rhineland's extra player proved to be the difference in this 7 v 6 affair, with Josh Cowan top scoring for the Rum-Runners and Chris Mayne for the Princes.

Washington Complete America Triumph

New York & Washington have also completed the seniors and reserves combo, with the Rebellions' 10 players accounting for Yakuza's 11! The difference was late inclusion Kurt Heatherly, proving the difference in his debut!
