Round 11

(Nige)
WXV Round 11 was always going to be an interesting affair with some genuinely match-ups scheduled. In one of the games of the year, Beijing were unable to break their duck against Pacific. Rio conquered Berlin with an interesting wager on the line much to Levi434's delight and uhh... I can't say it. Shane Mumford, come on down.

(Shane Mumford)
Send help! Bloody hell lads! I can't do this all on my own! Nige I think you need to undertake a roster overhaul and let me become the Captain-Coach. Well it was an atrocity of a round for us so yep... How many OOP's did we have? 3? 4? I'm bloody good but I can't play on 5 guys! 4 maybe.

Round 12

(Ossie)
Round 12 had a lot of highlights - but the games between top 4 fancies Dublin, New York and PNL and stugglers Toronto, London and Tokyo weren't among them, low scoring thrashings? Yuck. If it is going to be a trashing, at least let it be a high scoring one like Mexico City's (who had 9 centurions) flogging of a plucky Pacific.

The real highlight was arguable the match of the year, when the Patrick Dangerfield lead Seoul Magpies defeated the Gary Ablett led Rio de Janeiro Jaguars by a solitary point in a 321 point affair!

New Delhi were left to lament a real chance to consolidate a finals spot against Cape Town, with Tigers co-coach Ricochet publicly lashing Sidebottom, Howe and Bugg for falling well short of expectations, as Dean Kent of all people the hero for a struggling Cape Town

Moscow had probably the highlight of its season to forget, breaking a 7-match winning streak from Buenos Aires with a 9 point victory. With Docherty and Hogan playing starring roles, the future looks brighter for Moscow. In what turned out to be a big loss for Christchurch, they went down in a tight affair against Beijing.

While Berlin kept its season alive with an as-expected victory over cellar-dweller Cairo, despite Purple 77's strange attraction to certain players.

Other off-field notes included a savage response by PNL co-coach Hellopplz against Thunder coach Toga, who questioned on the record the value of Billy Stretch. While New York were lamenting the loss off Kurt Tippett, and Dublin had issues with Rory Sloane's availability.
