I want to see what a Hit out to advantage actually is. I see soo many time Goldy deliver a ball right to a north player and not get a HTA. But then the exact opposite play happens but it goes to a north opponent and instant -1

I think it's when it's tapped to a player who can then effectively dispose of the ball.

So if Goldy taps it to Swallow who is immediately nailed in a tackle then it's not counted as a HOTA

I know thats why im complaining. Goldy taps it to swallow takes a few steps then gets tackled 0 points. Goldy taps its to jack Steven takes a few steps and its -1.

Also its abit rough as if it Goldy taps it to swallow takes a few steps breaks a tackle and then kicks it into the 50 that would be +5 right?

so this is why i say Gawn isnt that good its just the guys he hits it to our.

Can confirm the bloke was flowering terrible today

Yeah... Clearly he's no good... #worstcalloftheyear

Interesting article from earlier in the year.

QuoteIf the hitout reaches an intended target, then the hitout is deemed to be to the advantage of a team mate and these are worth five points. If the hitout is sharked and results in an opponent’s possession, then that player is deducted one point.

So does the tap just need to reach their target?

Those articles are bullshower anyway. Watch the live scoring and they only get awarded 5 points when it's a ruck contest inside the 50's. Most of the time they'll get 3 for a HOTA unless they're a CD favourite then they sometimes get 4.

agree lots of times i see rucks get a +1 in Dt for a hitout do nothing else and then magically Sc goes up +3 or +4 not +5

when did i say he isnt good. I said he's not that good.

he is an elite ruck but i no means to me is he the clear standout ruck.

NN, Goldy are in the elite category and i think grundy will join. But if you look at SC then Gawn is miles ahead of everyone else.

_wato

Sauce and deffs Sandi are also elite rucks Holz

As a ruck Grundy ain't that good TBH... As you say will join but still a little way off

I reckon Gawn in front of Goldy in front of NN in terms of overall game

NN best ruck then Gawn then Goldy

Impact on game cannot go past Gawn

As an accumulator (4th mid) probably Grundy then Stef then Goldy

agree on Gawn over Goldy at the moment just because goldy is clearly playing through injury. In saying that Goldy at melbourne would be a beast.

Agree Holz

Reckon Gawn and Goldy easy 115+ avg again next year, won't bother with any of Stef / NN / Sandi as much as it'll tempt me

Based on this years experience where i went gawn/smartin  will be starting gawn/goldy next year unless grundy is extremely well priced.   Sure to be plenty look at Ryder for f/r backup next year as well.

DaveElNacho

Goldy has to be a lock for next year, surely.
At their current average, gawn will be about 650k and goldy 600k right?
1.25 mill is only a bit more than what i payed this year.

Yeah Goldy/NicNat was 1.25 mil to start this year so I wont have a problem paying that for Gawn/Goldy

If Sandi hadn't played again this year I might have considered him but if he plays the rest of the year he will only get a 10% discount and not be worth the risk.
