Naismith a smart option?

Hi all
I'm thinking of the idea of trading in Naismith next week before he goes up and leaving on forward bench as forward/ruck coverage as I still have Grimley. The cash I get will finally allow me to get my d6 and bring in one of the blue boys in Simmo or Dochs.
I will have 2 trades left in total after this,  but quite decent Dual position bench cover on all lines. Gawn and Goldy my 2 rucks might have a rest coming up, so coverage would be nice. Is Naismith safe for the rest of the year? Did a good job against the Hawks.
Is anyone else considering him?

Mark

It sounds like a good trade..

BUT with only 2 trades left it could be very risky. As this week and last week with 5-6 key Supercoach players going down (Ablett-Libba-Laird-Barlow-Lids) it could come back to hurt u.

Yeah I know you mean. This week I copped Ablett and Libba so Ablett went out. Lucky i had no Laird Bartel and I traded Barlow out 2 weeks ago. I could just do the 1 trade and bank the cash and alternate d6 for a while between Collins, DBJ and Tippa. Wait for the Carlton boys to hopefully drop just before SuperCoach finals. Leave 3 trades then.

I actually dont mind that trade as it gives you cover for both forwards and rucks, potentially saving trades if there are more key players out/rested (as there are every year)

Naismith appears to have preference over Nankervis, and barring injury (or Tippett making a miraculous recovery and coming back in the next three weeks) he should take you to the end of the SC season and reasonably deep into finals.

In your case with Grimley you get cover on 2 lines and if you can upgrade your D6 to Docherty as a result then that's well worth it.

Sooo
With Goldy just about hobbling is it a good idea to get this bloke in?

Will go down to one trade but will have cover on every single line. And this will have to be the week to do it.

Howverr, seeing as North have to win to make finals I know for sure that Goldy is a required player and he will HAVE to play each and every week.
But if he missed (which doesn't surprise me) I'm down to a donut and can't afford that. Wouldn't like to sideways to any other ruck as his replacement. Thoughts??

Thanks for the advice. I've worked out though I'm about 10k short of Simmo so I just can't afford either blue. Do I wait for a couple of weeks for either of them to drop, or completely miss them and go for a POD this week in Williams from GWS? I could afford them if I trade Kerridge out of Naismith, but I think he will be good bench coverage also for me.

Let's hope Tippett doesn't recover. I noticed Nankervis had a massive game in the 2's so I hope that doesn't help his case.

Mr Adams

All good discussion here.

My main concern is Naismith's job security. If he doesn't play until season's end then I'm fearful of blowing a trade.

Having the F/R flexibility is a massive upside though, because I too think Goldy will be rested.

Any Sydney gurus out there who can convince us Naismith is likely to keep Nankervis out and play until the GF??

Jimmykidd

tippo still 5 weeks away, so thats good news for nai. but nankervis could get some rotation maybe?! ive got big cox riding the pine, the downgrade could be handy.

but of course, if you save the trade you can just use it to trade goldy out when he gets rested. cause it will more than likely be in SC finals.

dilemma.

FRAZLER

I really want to bring him in. Gives me alot more flexibility and cover for goldy if he gets the rest everyone is talking about. Hoping he can play out the year. Looked good last week.

This whole Wells situation almost made me change my plans. I ended up trading him in for Trengrove as my original plan.
I've got Wells as emergency after this calf scare and loopholling now with Naismith. I'm thinking if Wells scores below 80, welcome to starting 22 Naismith.

tor01doc

He is still very affordable but has a BE of minus 53.

It is surely now or never.

Any comments on his JS?

He would provide great R/F cover if he plays.

grabbed him last week. looks solid. should play till tippo returns in 4 weeks
