im unsure about whether i should downgrade sandilands to a cheaper ruck and then upgrading mitchell to gibbs and rockliff to ballantyne

Sounds like a good plan to me, not sure on your choice of Malceski though, he has been someone injury prone lately.
Who would you swap Sandilands for?
There is always the option of downgrading Brown to Ballantyne and keeping Rockliff
And then maybe add Gibbs to your watchlist, after him and Mitchell play three games each they will be revalued. So check after game 2, see what results you come up with.
Both Mitchell and Gibbs are quality players however I would choose Gibbs over Mitchell this year only because of the troubles the Hawks are having atm.

Option 2
Downgrading Brown can allow you to get Ballantyne and upgrade to Gibbs and keep Sandilands. Do not quote me on that I haven't done the maths lol. Worth a look. Depends on your kitty and what's left over after the downgrade of Brown.
