What's the better move?

OK, so I know that upgrading D6 seems like the obvious choice but let me explain

I will be using 1 trade on Ablett this week, but it's the 2nd trade that I have two options with. Keep in mind I currently have Collins/Brand as my D6 so what would net me more points?

Option 1:
Ablett to Hanners then next week Collins to a defender under 430k

Option 2:
Ablett to Prestia/Shiel/Sidebottom then next week Collins to 450-480k defender most likely one of Rance/Pittard/Gibson/McVeigh/Enright

Option 3:
Use Lee to loophole Brand and Collins as D6 for the rest of the year, and use the two trades to do Ablett and Libba to Hanners/JPK, Neale/Priddis etc. Basically any mid combo except I couldn't afford 2 of Neale/Sloane/Hanners as a combo. I would have $1,091,200 to spend on 2 prem mids

Current mids are Danger, Jelwood, Pendles, Parker, Gray, Ward, Ablett, Libba (Hall as M9/F7)

Option 2 seems like the safest, but curious to hear what people think

I would be left with 1 trade after any of these options which is purely for an LTI, so after these 2 that's it

Do you have JJo?

No, and tbh I'm not overly interested. I don't rate him as highly as most around here do. I think the guys in the 450-480k range I mentioned are better choices for me, which is why Option 1 probably isn't for me because I don't really want any of the defenders in that price range, but it's an option simply because it gets me Hanners

DaveElNacho

What defender are you looking at for sub 430k?
Harbrow looks like he could be alright? Coming into some form. Or broadbent has been solid enough.
Probably wouldn't really be happy with any of those though.. Looks like theres a decent jump in quality from 430k to the 450-480 bracket.

Would rule out option 3 simply because i wouldn't be confident in brand playing out the season.

GoLions

Not option 3. So if you're not interested in option 1, then that only leaves one thing; ZZZZZZZZZZZZZOption 2

RaisyDaisy

Yeah I figured Option 2 makes the most sense - It's the safest and should still net a nice result

Now I just need to figure out which sub 500k mid to pick  :-\

Treloar? Accumulates, so could go bang again

Don't think I'll pick him from that group - Besides the 169 he has only gone 120+ twice

Really leaning towards Prestia vs Sidebottom

I'd go Sidey. Prestia sore knee, and Rocket seemed pretty worried he'd miss this week. Even if he plays, could be something to manage at some stage.

Trealor > Sidey imo RD

Sidey too outside, tough run for pies coming up, his accumulation could be limited

Look at his scores, goes huge against easier teams, hence his first half 115 avg

RaisyDaisy

I'm not exactly comfortable with any of the guys in this price range  :-[

Just want Hanners lol, but then it flowers me for a defender upgrade

I'll make the call the later in the week - thanks for the input lads

Collins + Ablett + how much $$?

I honestly believe Hanners + Johannisen is the easy decision here if you can afford

PICCOLLO

Option 4

Trade Gaz and keep two trades for a bit longer. Loophole your defence where posiible and reassess in a couple of weeks.

We saw how easily and quickly teams can fall apart. Another Gaz/Libba scenario and youre cooked.

I agree with option 4. Get Hanners and keep 2 trades up your sleeve and then reassess. Rance could present as a sub-430k option if he scores another poor score and leaks more cash.

You'll be kicking yourself when Sidebottom/Prestia are scoring 70's & 80's and top 10 mids are going at 120-130.

I mean at this stage of the season when everyone is full premium, it actually really hurts when a premium mid still plays decent but only scores 90 (Rockliff on the weekend) and a direct POD in Gray scores 130. 40 points you cough up to your opponents right there.

Thanks guys

I might not have been completely clear, but I am only trading Ablett this week

The Collins upgrade I would do either next week or the week after

Can't afford to upgrade Collins now - will be giving him another week or two to increase more in value as he still has a negative BE
