sounds like more likely to stay but still sounds interesting

kinda feel like it's an article made to get other clubs interested

hmm ... I wonder what Tommy personally thinks of Horse moving him around and chop-changing his role all the time??   ???

Ricochet

Coincidence that contract gets put on hold right after Neale re-signs? Maybe other clubs turned their attention towards Tom

What was this blokes role this week? Across half back?

Not flowering happy, dunno how much more I can take with his up and down scores!!! Hahaha

I just get the impression that Tom Mitchell is the type of player that's only good in a good team... I could be really wrong, but just a feeling I get

He is an accumulator. He will get the ball regardless of where he plays. I'm hoping he follows in the footsteps of his old man and comes to Carlton.

I reckon you're really wrong man
He does what he does week in week out with limited mid time and obviously like 5th in line behind Hanners JPK Parker Jack

He would own a midfield it he could be #1 mid

Accumulator isn't what I was afraid of though, not questioning that...

The game is basically all midfielders these days. I feel that anyone who is the '5th best midfielder' in a team would have a secure spot.

I've been wrong many times before, but I'd be wary of getting him in a team.

The thing is 4 guys ahead of him could be the number 1 in any team. That is why Sydney are so dangerous as a team, all those midfielders are stars in their own right. Mitchell is the youngest of the group which means he also has the room to grow that JPK and Jack don't at this point. He is a death by 1000 cuts type of guy. If you have a team that needs an inside presence he will slot right in and pick up where he left off at the Swans.

Agree with Mat

Anyway, back on topic, is this role across half back a fresh idea that can be deployed or just warranted for the game on the weekend?
He gets little mid time as it is, gets lots of bench time, and if he plays across half back his scores will go to shower!!

JBs-Hawks

He will enjoy working with Sam Mitchell next season

He wants to stay at the Swans but the offers in front of him are of the too good to refuse variety.

yep and its a 2 horse race between the Swans and Hawks for him

SydneyRox

If the deal is big enough I really dont mind, Hawks will have to trade for him so we will get something pretty good for him.

With Heeney and Mills to join the mids over the next 2-3 years we can probably do without him anyway

Would be nice of him to stay but he ranks about 4th in our midfield for me behind, JPK, Parker and Hanners

So if we can turn him into a good forward then I am all for it.

Hawka

Hmmm
Tommy has been our best player in the first 4 rounds
I didnt get to watch alot of Sydney's games the least 2 years
How was his disposal efficiency? how was his his score involvements?
