SURELY Leppa can see this works, Stef rucking with J. Walker pinch hitting who is an ACTUAL forward and has kicked some goals unlike West and Stef playing in the forward line.

GoLions

Big Stefan: 52 hitouts, 17 disposals, 5 clearances, 100% DE
Rocky: 38 touches, 9 tackles, 18 CPs, 9 clearances
Robbo: 38 touches, 15 CPs, 9 clearances, and a goal
Hanley: 37 touches, 12 marks, and 2 goals
Bastinac: 29 touches, 12 CPs, 6 clearances, 93% DE, and a goal
Zorko: 31 touches, 11 marks, 8 tackles

Walker and Schache combined for 6 goals (probably should have been about 8 though). Cutler, Mayes, and Bewick were all quite good. And we lost by 49 points (should have been 60+).

Rich had 7 clangers. Lester didn't get near it. Keays needs a rest. Merrett gave away frees as always, however we still need him while our young guys develop. I missed the first half and a bit of the game so not gonna comment on anything else, but far out, that game should have been a lot closer. At least there were quite a few positives to take away from it though. Robbo probably BOG.

Happy to get the 4 points but agree with Lynch - the most underwhelming 49 point win I've seen

Just leaving the ground. Will post more later.  Robbo definitely bog.

How long until the lions are relocated back to Fitzroy?

Very scrappy game overall.  Both teams fumbled a fair bit so do not know whether the ground was still damp from the rain we have had this week or skills were bad from both sides.
From a Lions perspective we were much better than last week commitment wise but skill errors really hurt.  Eagles scored 7.4 from turnovers and that does not include the 2 goals Kennedy got from Merret frees.
Do not know whether kicking backwards and hand passing is coaches instructions or not but really frustrating to see ball being kicked backward and handball overused when coming out of defence. We are far too slow moving the ball forward as quite often we have marked a ball and then seem to take forever to kick or handball it when a long kick would be to a one on one contest and quite often both Schache and Walker were metres in front of defenders/.

From a lions perspective Robbo was BOG and head and shoulders above anyone else despite the SC scores. He also kept Priddis quiet much to the detriment of my SC team.
Martin returned to form with avengence after his rest,
Rockliff Did not really see him much but looking at the stats see he had 10 tackles which lifts his scoring.
Zorko had another strong game.
Walker responded strongly after being dropped and Bastinac and Taylor had patches of brilliance.
Jansen and Hipwood both showed something although Hipwood needs to work on the weights in the off season.
Keays probably needs a rest but whether we persevere till byes in 2 weeks remains to be seen.

Rich again was below par and Merrett again too slow and gave away 5 frees.
Hanley undoubtedly had his best game of the season no doubt responding to the criticism of the leadership group.

Disappointing but the effort was there this week.

Seems like there is no confidence in getting the ball quickly to 1v1 contests up forward. When there is no confidence in the game plan either players start to have their cards marked or the coach gets the sack.

I don't know what the answer is but I don't think a new coach will make all that much difference TBH.

Rich was going along nicely until Hutch was moved to him,he just can't handle any form of attention still

His DE was crap not his usual accuracy efficiency,  Fair enough Hutch kept him quiet but a couple of OOB on the full when going forward really hurt.  His D/e at one stage was below 50% and finished at 65%
